BMW M2 CS Set As Glittering Prize For 2025 BMW M Award Crown

The BMW M2 CS will take centre stage at the end of the 2025 MotoGP season when the quickest qualifier drives away in the compact coupé finished in shimmering Velvet Blue Metallic. Revealed in the Assen paddock by riders Brad Binder and Alex Rins, the rear-wheel-drive machine produces 530 hp from its twin-turbo straight-six, channelled through an eight-speed M Steptronic gearbox that snaps through ratios with razor accuracy. Launch control sees the lightweight two-door fire to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, helped by forged alloy wheels and a kerb mass trimmed by about 30 kg thanks to extensive carbon-fibre-reinforced-plastic panels.

BMW has presented a road car to the season’s best qualifier every year since 2003, and the M2 CS is its sharpest offering yet. MotoGP points earned on Saturdays mirror the Sunday scoring system, and the rider topping the table after the final session in Valencia will collect the keys. Past victors include names such as Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner and, most recently, Francesco Bagnaia. With record holder Marc Márquez having lifted seven previous awards, the 2025 contest is set to add fresh intrigue to each time-attack shoot-out.

Beyond outright power, the special-edition M2 benefits from recalibrated electronics and a bespoke suspension tune that tightens body control without robbing day-to-day comfort. Carbon seats, Alcantara touches, and discreet “CS” badging create a cockpit that feels ready for a hot lap straight out of the pit lane. A rear seat pass-through even remains, acknowledging that a set of slicks or a weekend bag might share the journey home.

When the chequered flag falls on the final qualifying session in mid-November, one rider will celebrate more than pole positions: they will drive away in a road-going reminder of their speed, wrapped in the unmistakable stance and bark of the BMW M2 CS.
