[Video] 2022 BMW X4 M Competition Gets an Improved Facelift

The BMW X3 and X4 M Competition variants are fun to drive, apart from the rock-hard suspension of both cars. After the refresh and LCI treatment of the standard cars, the Sao Paulo Yellow BMW X4 M Competition was put to the test.

Horatiu recently drove several new Bavarian cars, including this bright-coloured X4 M. The BMW X4 M Competition gets a new colour, an interior upgrade, a calibration of the driving modes to better distinguish between Sport and Comfort modes, and some suspension and stiffness modifications.

Horatiu admits that the upgrades are noticeable and worthwhile. This is because the pre-LCI models were overly brutal. They now have a wider range between sport and comfort settings, allowing them to relax. This makes the BMW X4 M Competition more versatile and usable.

The power remains tough as it should be. The S58’s 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged I6 engine continues to produce 503 hp (510 PS) and 479 lb-ft of torque. This makes it absolutely gigantic in both directions. It’s also much more pleasant than an SUV of its size and weight should be. Like its X3 sister, the X4 M Competition is a blast to drive. There are now more attractive colour options, better interior technology and more comfort on the road. With its Swiss Army Knife-like versatility, the BMW X4 M Competition is hard to beat.
