MINI WRC Countryman spotted testing on a race track

The MINI Countryman WRC made its world premiere at the 2010 Paris Motor Show to celebrate the return of the MINI to WRC. But despite the unveiling, a MINI Countryman WRC has been spotted driving around a race track in Europe, still sporting a psychedelic camouflage.

The MINI Countryman WRC is being developed by MINI in cooperation with Prodrive. This racing car features a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder Di turbo-charged engine from BMW Motorsport matted into an Xtrac 6-speed sequential gearbox.

In the first season of its return, the MINI Countryman WRC will only compete in six of the thirteen rounds, driven by Kris Meeke. It will undertake a full season in 2012.
