A long-wheelbase version of the BMW E60 5 Series is being introduced to China as a unique entry worldwide. The new model will be shown at the international Auto China 2006 Motor Show in Beijing sometime in late November.
BMW will manufacture the new models in it's Shenyang Plant, located in the Liaoning province. Brillance China Automotive holdings, BMW's joint venture partner is in charge of the plant, which has also produced the local 3 Series in China.
Major growth has been noted in China with regards to the BMW market from a growth of over 66% having 18,000 units sold in the first half of 2006.
