After spending a lot of time on the BMW M2 CS, I realized it was indeed the best BMW to drive. Is it so much better that it’s worth the extra money than the already brilliant M2 Competition? That’s up for debate, but it’s a better car to drive, even if only for a little while. Thanks to its added aero and carbon-fiber roof, it’s also better looking. So we take notice when we see one painted in an ultra-rare shade of Birch Green BMW Individual paint.
The car is owned by Steffen Krebs, a long-standing BMW individual customer and a person who likes unique and interesting colored BMWs.
The term “ultra-rare” in this color is really a bit of an understatement. Birch Green is a vibrant, near-fluorescent yellow/green paint that looks more suitable for a Lamborghini than for a BMW. This is what makes it a great-looking and aggressive BMW M2 CS.
The gold wheels, the red brake calipers, and the glossy black accents that get red trim make it even more vibrant. For example, on the black side skirts, you can read “BMW Individual Manufaktur” in red. In this car, Mr. Krebs will never go unnoticed, that’s for sure.
Engine
The BMW M2 CS power is equally loud; a 3.0-liter, 444 horsepower, and 406 lb-ft twin-floor I6. In this case, the engine is coupled to a dual-clutch seven-speed gearbox, giving it fast-fire shifts. Although a six-speed manual is more fun, the DCT is faster.
Interestingly, the inside is quite ordinary. Mr. Krebs would like a snazzy cabin to match if this car had been painted in such a vibrant, individual shade of green. Unfortunately, it is the same black interior as the standard M2 CS. But it could be argued that the Birch Green’s pulsation paints more than compensates for the cabin lack of flash.
