Toyota Supra Will Likely Share Some BMW Tech

As we already know, BMW and Toyota are joining forces to create a sports car together. The cars are being built on the same platform, and in the end, there will be two new models – BMW Z4 Roadster and Toyota Supra.

It now seems that the two models won’t only have similar technologies and chassis, but also share powertrain details. Some spy photos that emerged show that Supra is about to have a BMW’s automatic gear lever, which tells us there is a good possibility it will use a ZF-sourced 8-speed auto transmission with BMW’s electronics.

As Autocar reports, Supra will come equipped with a BMW petrol engine – likely the B58 – paired up with an electric motor.
