[VIDEO] 2024 BMW X2 M35i Teaser Flaunts Multiple M Emblems

Some BMW enthusiasts hint at scepticism upon spotting models like the M135i, X2 M35i, or M235i Gran Coupe. The notion of a front-wheel-drive-rooted model branded as an M can be challenging for them. Indeed, following the earlier launch of the X1 M35i, a new X2 M35i is on the horizon. The M Performance variant is set to premiere today alongside the next-gen X2 and its electric counterpart, the iX2.

In the brief 19-second video, it’s evident BMW is sprinkling more M badges than previously thought. While the new X2 M35i showcases a kidney grille featuring the “world’s most potent letter” akin to the X1 M35i, the sporty crossover surprisingly lacks the iconic logo beneath. Notably, this grille lights up, adding flair to the crossover-coupe fusion.

The “M” insignia is also seen on the brake callipers, consistent with the older X2 M35i. BMW is expected to offer optional M Compound brakes borrowed from the X1 M35i. This model features single-piston callipers with 330-mm discs in the rear and four-piston callipers with 385-mm drilled discs upfront. These discs combine an aluminium chamber with a grey cast iron ring in the X1 M35i. The teaser showcases grey callipers, setting them apart from regular brakes.

Furthermore, M badges will adorn the tailgate and front fenders, accompanied by the “35i” model number. BMW offers a sneak peek of the new X2’s back, highlighting a quad exhaust setup and a uniquely shaped spoiler. It seems the design team aimed to give this sleek crossover a markedly different look from the X1’s rear.
