The BMW iX3 is preparing to take centre stage in Munich, offering the first proper look at the brand’s next-generation electric design. Sitting on the new Neue Klasse platform, the iX3 will set the tone for BMW’s future EV line-up, both in terms of styling and engineering.

Central to its appearance is the kidney grille, now reshaped into a slimmer, vertically oriented form that harks back to BMW’s heritage while moving firmly into the electric age. Illuminated and integrated with headlights that flow seamlessly from its edges, the grille will become a signature feature across upcoming models. It signals the end of oversized proportions and the arrival of a more refined, minimalist approach.
Beyond its face, the iX3 carries the responsibility of being the first production car to showcase Neue Klasse technology. This architecture has been developed specifically for battery-electric power, promising a mix of improved efficiency, strong range and the driving dynamics BMW is known for. With an estimated 400 miles on offer, plus the choice of rear- and all-wheel-drive, the SUV is shaping up to be both practical and versatile.
Inside, the iX3 will launch the new Panoramic iDrive system, stretching across the cabin with a futuristic two-level layout. It’s a bold departure from traditional dashboards, designed to give drivers a more immersive and streamlined interface. All will be revealed when the covers come off at the Munich Motor Show, but this early glimpse suggests the iX3 is about to redefine BMW’s EV identity.
