A BMW M2 test mule was suddenly spotted yesterday at the Nurburgring doing some testing rounds. It was wearing a more aggressive body kit from parts that could be found in the M Performance catalog. While we cannot confirm for sure that this prototype was the M2, sources say that BMW M is indeed planning a more hardcore version of their M2 Competition model and this is scheduled to arrive in 2020, carrying the M2 CS badge.
Sources have also said that the new BMW M2 CS is scheduled to begin production in March 2020. That means it will have about a year run before the production of the M2 gives way to the next generation.
There are no numbers known yet in terms of how many M2 CS units will be produced but we expect it to be limited, similar to the M3 CS and M4 CS upon launch time.
