The 2025 BMW M4 CS has arrived as the ideal balance between track-bred intensity and real-world usability. Where the hardcore CSL demanded constant commitment, the M4 CS offers a more approachable package without losing any of the capability that defines BMW’s performance machines. With 543 horsepower from its twin-turbo inline-six, it delivers the kind of acceleration and grip that cements its place as one of the standout models in the M range.
Straight-line speed is astonishing, with the M4 CS surging from rest with the urgency of a pure racing car. Launch control may take patience to initiate, but once engaged, the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres bite into the tarmac and the eight-speed automatic gearbox fires through the ratios with precision. Stability at high speeds is remarkable, giving the driver confidence whether chasing lap times or stretching its legs on the autobahn.
Braking performance is equally impressive. The carbon-ceramic setup provides consistent, confident stops with little fade, while cornering grip allows the M4 CS to carve through bends with poise. Understeer under trail-braking is predictable and easily managed, while 4WD Sport mode keeps the rear lively without losing composure. Away from the track, the M4 CS softens its character enough to cope with daily driving. Adaptive suspension smooths rougher surfaces, and noise insulation makes long journeys bearable. Steering remains precise but lacks the tactile feedback purists may crave, a compromise that keeps the M4 CS versatile and less fatiguing in everyday use. At just under 3,900 pounds, it is heavier than the CSL, largely due to the all-wheel-drive system, but this weight penalty is offset by the confidence it inspires in all conditions.
