A train carrying 120 BMW SUVs derailed and somehow damaged every single one of them. The train was carrying the cars from the South Carolina plant to the Port of Charleston. Multiple X models were on board, including different versions of the X3, X4, X5, and X6.
The South Carolina factory is on its way to becoming the largest one BMW has in the world. They are producing around 450,000 SUVs yearly and some 70% of them are sent to the Port of Charleston for exporting to other countries.
The incident still needs to be investigated. The officials hope to get more info about what caused the accident that damaged over 100 luxury vehicles.
