The MINI Paul Smith Edition has arrived, fusing the playful eye of British designer Paul Smith with the unmistakable silhouette of the MINI Cooper. Built around the philosophy of “classic with a twist,” this special edition lands across the MINI Cooper 3-Door in both electric and petrol forms, the MINI Cooper 5-Door, and the MINI Cooper Convertible, giving buyers plenty of bodystyles to pick from.
Three exterior shades headline the range, two of which are exclusive to this edition. Statement Grey is a modern take on the 1959 Mini Austin Seven hue, blending a clean grey base with a hint of blue. Inspired White revisits the beloved beige of classic Mini history through a contemporary lens, while Midnight Black Metallic rounds things out with timeless elegance pulled from the current MINI palette. Each finish is layered with bold contrasts between body, roof, and accent colours, capped off by the signature Paul Smith stripe motif.
The detailing leans hard into British heritage. Door mirrors, the radiator grille surround, and the wheel hub caps all wear Nottingham Green, a deliberate nod to Paul Smith’s hometown. Buyers of the hardtop variants can pick between two roof treatments: Nottingham Green featuring the signature stripe along the driver’s side, or Jet Black with subtle tone-on-tone matte and gloss striping for those who prefer something quieter.
Slide inside, and the cabin tells the same story with creative flourishes throughout. Vescin and knit upholstery in Nightshade Blue meet black knitted surfaces stitched with tone-on-tone stripes, while a friendly “Hello” projection beams onto the ground when the door opens. The phrase “Every day is a new beginning” runs along the door sill, the sport steering wheel carries a signature stripe textile insert on the 6 o’clock spoke, and a hand-drawn rabbit graphic decorates the floor mat as a quirky reminder of the designer’s playful streak.
Even the digital touches have been tailored for this collaboration. The circular MINI display gains three exclusive Paul Smith backgrounds inside Personal Mode, letting drivers carry the designer’s aesthetic into their daily commute. Taken as a whole, the MINI Paul Smith Edition feels like a properly considered tribute to two British icons, blending iconic form with meticulous detail and the kind of unexpected wit that defines both brands.
