MINI UK has recently unveiled the latest addition to its lineup, the 2025 MINI Countryman John Cooper Works, bringing a new wave of excitement to crossover enthusiasts. Our recent drive in Portugal provided insights into the performance and design upgrades that define this remarkable vehicle. Before delving into our impressions, let’s look at the specifications that make the 2025 Countryman a standout in its class.
Boasting dimensions that enhance presence and interior space, the 2025 MINI Countryman stretches 4433 millimetres in length, 1843 millimetres in width, and 1656 millimetres in height. This iteration is longer, taller, and wider than its predecessor, promising a more substantial driving experience. However, with size comes weight, with the new model tipping the scales at 3825 lbs.
Under the hood, the Countryman JCW packs a punch with its B48A20T2 turbocharged 2.0-litre gasoline engine, delivering 296 horsepower in Europe and 312 hp in the U.S. Thanks to a boost feature, drivers can tap into an additional 19 hp for bursts of acceleration, ensuring thrilling performance on demand. Paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, power is seamlessly distributed to all four wheels, elevating the driving experience.
Despite a slight decrease in torque compared to its predecessor, the 2025 MINI Countryman John Cooper Works maintains impressive acceleration, clocking 0 to 62 mph in 5.4 seconds. The updated design further enhances its sporty allure, featuring a refreshed JCW logo and a striking colour scheme. Inside, the cabin exudes sophistication with a minimalist layout and a sleek 9.4-inch round OLED screen, setting a new standard for crossover interiors.
