“The King of Rock’n’Roll” loved driving around in his BMW 507 which he bought in 1958.
Initially, he didn’t like the Feather White color his car came with. Very quickly after getting it, his new ride became covered in kisses, messages, and phone numbers – in other words, with red lipstick. It was a logical move that he decided to paint the 507 in a flashy red color, and while he was there, he also got the 3.2-liter V8 engine rebuilt.
The car became as famous as its owner. It even had a role in one movie. In 1968, Jack Castor purchased it from Presley and had it for decades.
Thanks to the BMW Group Classic, the BMW 507 now received a full restoration. The restored car, which now has its original Feather White exterior, will be publicly debuted at the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 21.
