Mansory's Mighty BMW M5 Pharaohs Roars Into Egypt With 850HP - BMW.SG | BMW Singapore Owners Community

Mansory’s Mighty BMW M5 Pharaohs Roars Into Egypt With 850HP

The German tuning house Mansory has just planted its flag in fresh territory, and the machine chosen to mark the occasion is the all-new BMW M5 P850 Pharaohs Edition, a one-off Egypt-exclusive build that pairs the latest super-saloon from Munich with the workshop’s signature heavy-handed approach to customisation. Unveiled at the First Nile Boat by the Four Seasons Hotel and Casino in Cairo, this bespoke build marks the brand’s official entry into the Egyptian luxury aftermarket, hot on the heels of its recent Chinese debut at the Beijing Auto Show with a heavily worked Zeekr 9X. Whether you love or loathe the workshop’s signature aesthetic, there is no denying the speed at which it is gobbling up new territories around the globe.

Mansory has earned itself a polarising reputation over the years, with its custom builds often dividing opinion among purists who feel the workshop occasionally goes a step too far in dressing up factory-fresh machinery. The Pharaohs Edition, however, looks to play things relatively safe by the brand’s usual standards, even if the only available imagery so far shows the saloon photographed against a dark backdrop in low light, making it tricky to pick out the finer details. What we can clearly see, though, is that the M5 has been put through the full Mansory wringer, complete with a bespoke wide-body kit that gives the four-door an even meaner stance than the donor car arrived with from the factory.

Look closely at the bodywork and the trademark Mansory cues become hard to miss, with prominent vented panels chiselled into the front and rear bumpers as well as the side skirts to channel airflow more aggressively over the freshly sculpted panels. The standard M5 alloys have been swapped out for chunkier rubber wrapped around fresh wheels, while a set of larger brake discs lurks behind the spokes and what appears to be a suspension-lowering kit drops the body considerably closer to the tarmac. The visual transformation gives the saloon a distinctly more menacing road presence than the standard car offers straight off the BMW production line in Dingolfing.

Step inside the cabin, and the styling treatment is exactly what loyal Mansory clients have come to expect, with the brand’s distinctive logo and emblem stitched, embossed, or printed across just about every surface that will hold them. The team has at least shown a degree of restraint with the colour palette, opting for a relatively muted blue thread for the emblems that prevents the cabin from descending into the sort of gaudy spectacle some of the workshop’s previous builds have been criticised for. It is still unmistakably a Mansory interior, but the overall effect feels surprisingly tasteful given the brand’s reputation for going large.

Where the Pharaohs Edition really earns its name, though, is under the bonnet, with the P850 badge giving away the headline figure for everyone who notices it. Mansory has cranked the M5’s hybrid V8 powertrain up to a colossal 850 horsepower, a healthy 121 horsepower hike over the already mighty output of the standard M5 fresh from the German production line. That kind of muscle slots the Egyptian-exclusive saloon firmly into hypercar territory in terms of straight-line shove, ensuring the lucky buyer who takes delivery will have no trouble making a statement on Cairo’s busiest stretches. Love them or hate them, Mansory’s reach now stretches further than ever, and the appetite for its outlandish creations clearly shows no sign of slowing.
