The BMW i8 was present at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show to showcase once again its beauty as BMW’s centerpiece display for the said event. BMW proudly says that the i8 will set a benchmark in the performance segment. Powered by an electric motor and an internal combustion engine mounted at the rear and drives via a dual-clutch gearbox, the vehicle delivers 349 horsepower and has an overall weight of 1480kg, and will run from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.6 seconds. Fuel consumption is just 80 mpg. BMW will make the i8 available to the market in 2014.
