Automotive enthusiasts have long debated the rivalry between German and Japanese sports cars. Recently, The Straight Pipes, put the new G87 BMW M2 up against two of Japan’s most iconic sports cars – the Toyota Supra and the Nissan Z.

On the other hand, the Nissan Z has been around for over 50 years and has a cult following among car enthusiasts. The latest Z Proto features a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine producing 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. It is also available with a six-speed manual transmission or a nine-speed automatic, and it has a 0-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph.
Each of these sports cars has its unique strengths and weaknesses, and it ultimately depends on the buyer’s preferences. However, the new G87 BMW M2 holds its own against two of Japan’s most iconic sports cars. The M2’s impressive performance figures, handling, and styling make it a formidable competitor.
