In a fitting celebration, BMW has introduced the newest 7 Series model. The launch was held at BMW Group Classic’s historical buildings. Sharing the limelight is Montblanc, whom BMW worked with to add even more exclusivity to this vehicle. They are the manufacturers of the BMW Centennial Fountain Pen that was specifically made for this vehicle. Every owner of this centennial 7 Series model will receive this exclusive writing pen. There will only be 100 vehicles and 100 corresponding pens made.
During the launch event, there were speeches from Head of Product Management Automobile und Aftersales Hildegard Wortmann and CEO of Montblanc Jérôme Lambert. Their introduction kicked off the event. The Spellbound Contemporary Ballet company graced the stage with a dance number before the car was unveiled. It was put inside a cocoon. Karim Habib, Head of Design BMW Automobiles, and Zaim Kamal, Creative Director at Montblanc, also did a stimulating discussion about the car design trends in the industry. It was very interesting to look and this will impact will continue in the NEXT 100.
After the design talk, there was an exclusive craftsmanship exhibition held by BMW Individual and Maison Montblanc. In this workshop, the participants were taught by a BMW leather expert and a calligraphy master from Montblanc on how these tasks are done. Both crafts are very luxurious. Each action and decision is made here with the utmost regard for quality and this is the common ground for both BMW and Montblanc.
Both companies have already worked together in the past. In 2015, the “Montblanc for BMW†collaboration started to happen. A select range of writing instruments and leather ware were jointly designed for the 7 Series and these small details made a very big impact in the look and feel of the car. Now, BMW and Montblanc partnership is made even stronger through the collaboration on the Montblanc for BMW Centennial Fountain Pen.
