This is BMW Group’s best sales month in the history of the company. More than 200,000 units have been delivered in the span of 30 days. MINI and BMW Motorrad also sets the best performance ever in a month. The growth is a total of 3.5% for March alone. For the first three months of the year, 557,605 units have been sold which brought the sales growth to 5.9%. Consequently, BMW also makes this the best quarter for sales in the company’s 100 years of existence. A total of 478,743 units were delivered from the wide product range of BMW.
The strongest markets are the European and Asian regions, with 9.5% and 10.0% increase in deliveries respectively. These are the regions that BMW has also focused on in the past months and clearly, their efforts are paying off.
Vehicles that contributed to the increase include the BMW 2 Series (56.3% growth compared to last year), BMW X1 (67.7% increase), BMW X3 (27.2% increase), BMW X6 (15.1% increase), and the new BMW 7 Series (20.3% increase). There was also 5,128 BMW i electric cars delivered since January of this year. 2,255 of these were purchased in March. This just goes to show that there is success across all the model ranges.
In an interview with Dr. Ian Robertson, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG and point person for sales and marketing, he says that this success is made possible by their innovative product range. BMW’s efforts to create new variants and forward new technologies allowed them to achieve a profitable sales growth. The market is responding to the efforts of BMW in widening their product range and truly, there is one for everyone’s taste. He also believes that this is a sustainable growth and BMW can continue to increase its sales in the coming months.
