BMW Not To Develop a Sub-Brand to Compete with Mercedes-Maybach

The Bavarian automaker has no plans to create a sub-brand which will compete with Mercedes-Maybach. As several of the top BMW people confirmed over time, their take at the high-end market is Rolls-Royce, an extremely successful brand. As for the luxurious BMW models, such as the X7 and 8 Series, they will sit at the top of the range but won’t be sold under a different, luxury brand.

BMW Not To Develop a Sub-Brand to Compete with Mercedes-Maybach

BMW CEO Harald Krueger spoke to Automotive News recently, where he explained that the potential sub-brand is not happening. Instead, “it will all happen within the BMW brand,” Krueger said.

This only means the upcoming 8 Series and X7 will be more luxurious than anything we’ve ever seen from BMW. The 8 Series will come in three versions – a coupe, a convertible, and a gran coupe. All of them will be made using the top quality materials and will have a level of luxury higher than in any BMW’s car at the moment.
