BMW M2 G87 Widebody: A Must-Have Concept

Enthusiasts, unlike the general SUV-buying public, gravitate towards tuning, and the second-gen BMW M2 is their passion. Despite the G87 being in production for just over a year, it has already seen over 10,000 units built, providing a robust foundation for the aftermarket scene.

The independent artist “fully_leaded” has transformed the once-innocent M vehicle with an elaborate widebody kit. This kit features a sizable diffuser and a noticeable front splitter, lending the rear-wheel-drive coupe a notably aggressive look. Additionally, the front fenders of this potential M2 boast vents to aid in cooling the oversized Brembo brakes. Completing the ensemble, a carbon fibre roof-edge spoiler and wing grace the trunk lid. This becomes reminiscent of the optional M Performance Parts designed for the G87 model. Meanwhile, we anticipate an M2 CS variant with over 500 horsepower in 2025.

Even in 2023, when BMW typically launches bold designs, this concept still appears remarkably radical. The M2 CS, which we’ve seen during testing, appears tamer than this unofficial concept. Crucially, BMW plans to continue G87 production into the latter part of this decade, opening the door for more high-performance versions. In fact, they might introduce an M2 xDrive model as early as 2026.
