ALPINA unveils the new 2012 ALPINA B6 Bi-Turbo Convertible at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show based on the new BMW 6 Series Convertible. The 4.4 liter V8 TwinTurbo engine from BMW gets a new turbocharged system which increases the power output from 404 horsepower to 500 ponies at 5,500 rpm. The maximum torque was also raised to a whooping 516 lb-ft between 3,000 and 4,750 rpm. The increased power takes the ALPINA B6 Bi-Turbo Convertible from 0 to 62 mph in 4.8 seconds and has a top speed of 193 mph.
For the design, the car gets a new front apron, which has carbon flaps and a carbon lip at the bottom. The B6 is also fitted with the Akrapovic exhaust system which should provide exceptional acoustics. Inside, the design is dominated by the Lavalina full leather trim with cognac accents, a trademark of ALPINA and seen across other models as well.
