MINI John Cooper Works Steals Spotlight At IAA Mobility 2025

MINI John Cooper Works takes centre stage in Munich as the brand rolls out two bespoke showcars for their world debut at IAA Mobility 2025. Honouring a motorsport lineage that stretches from rally routes to modern endurance racing, the pair is presented in a reimagined MINI Pavilion where stance, aero cues and track-bred detailing underline the marque’s performance brief. It’s a showcase designed to put the JCW nameplate firmly on the grid of tomorrow’s urban mobility.

Out on Max-Joseph-Platz, MINI builds a streetscape that channels London energy into Munich’s historic heart. Here, the spotlight turns to the all-electric line-up, with the MINI John Cooper Works Electric, MINI Aceman SE and MINI Countryman SE ALL4 available for close inspection. Clean surfacing, compact footprints and agile proportions signal city-friendly packaging, while the electric powertrains promise instant torque and quiet, confident progress across tight streets and open boulevards alike.

Visitors can book road time directly from the square, with test drives operated in partnership with SIXT. The route puts chassis balance, steering precision and regenerative braking on display in real traffic, giving drivers a feel for how MINI’s dynamic tuning translates from concept to everyday commuting. Inside each cabin, materials and interfaces aim for intuitive control, blending playful design with the kind of ergonomic clarity that keeps attention on the road.

Community is part of the brief, too. On 13 September, MINI owners convene for a drive-in gathering that threads from Lake Tegernsee to the city, concluding with music, a BBQ and conversations with the team at the Pavilion. It’s a reminder that while the hardware is new—battery modules, software layers, interface logic—the MINI spirit remains anchored in driving feel and shared enthusiasm.

As the world’s mobility forum sets the pace for the next cycle of innovation, MINI’s dual presence—immersive brand theatre and hands-on road experience—shows a clear route ahead. The message is straightforward: design with purpose, keep the footprint tight, and make every kilometre count. With the John Cooper Works badge leading the charge, MINI’s electric future looks properly dialled in.
