Additional entry-level 114d diesel model from BMW

BMW has decided  to extend their 1 Series diesel engine offering this year by adding the new BMW 114d to their fleet. The 1.6-litre version of the four-cylinder diesel engine with TwinPower Turbo technology has a maximum output of 95hp with a peak torque of 235Nm and accelerates from zero to 62mph in just 12.2 seconds and a top speed of 115mph.  The fuel consumption is also impressive at 65.7mpg. CO2 emissions is recorded at just 112g/km.

Thanks to the added BMW EfficientDynamics technologies including Brake Energy Regeneration, Optimum Shift Indicator, Auto Start-Stop, electromechanical power steering, Active Aerodynamics, reduced rolling resistance tyres, and ECO PRO mode for better fuel efficiency.

The BMW 114d is available for pre-order in both the 3-door and 5-door variants. Production will start on November 2012.  Pricing has not been revealed yet.
