The BMW XM has always divided opinion, but this single-build version from German tuner G-Power turns controversy into pure presence. From its searing orange paintwork to its smoked tail-lamps and gloss-black detailing, the plug-in hybrid flagship now looks every inch the boulevard bruiser it was meant to be. Diamond-cut 23-inch five-spoke wheels sit snugly in the arches, while a deeper front clip, quad-stacked exhausts and a larger carbon-fibre rear wing underline the SUV’s fresh intent.

Beneath the carbon bonnet, the twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 and electric motor have been re-mapped for a colossal 887 bhp and 848 lb ft, driving all four wheels through the standard eight-speed automatic. G-Power hasn’t published a new 0-62 mph figure, yet with the factory XM Label already posting 3.7 seconds, this tuned version is certain to nick a few tenths while pushing top speed to 186 mph.

The visual overhaul is equally assertive. Satin-black door stripes pick up the grille outline and vertical daytime running lights, while clear rear lenses and that towering wing sharpen the tail. Every add-on is fashioned from lightweight carbon, and although the material won’t transform kerb weight, it amplifies the XM’s bespoke status.
Inside, G-Power says the cabin has been completely renewed. Expect contrast-stitched leather, bespoke embroidery and perhaps Alcantara headliners to echo the exterior palette, though the firm keeps details under wraps. What is public knowledge is that a second, even more potent XM is already on G-Power’s drawing board, targeting a four-figure power output and an uprated ‘Deep Tone’ exhaust to match.
For now, this 887 bhp creation stands as proof that the BMW XM still offers fertile ground for tuners willing to chase headline numbers and bold design in equal measure.
