BMW M2, M3 Touring, M5 CS Join 2023 MotoGP India

This weekend, the Buddh International Circuit hosts the inaugural IndianOil Grand Prix of India, featuring three M Safety Cars: the M2, M3 Touring, and M5 CS. The M 1000 RR, the official MotoGP Safety Bike, complements this M car trio.

2023 marks the 25th season of BMW M as the official MotoGP safety cars supplier, starting in 1999. The M2 G87 coupe and M3 G81 wagon are up for grabs at selected dealers. Meanwhile, the M5 CS was a limited edition release. This super sedan boasted a BMW road model’s most powerful combustion engine.

The M5 CS featured an enhanced S63 engine and a twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8. It’s tuned to a massive 635 horsepower (467 kilowatts) and showcased in Frozen Deep Green metallic. While the electric motor provides the XM and its Label Red sibling a greater combined output, this high-performance saloon maintains the title of the most potent ICE in BMW M’s history.

The M2 and M3 Touring, the other two vehicles, boast M Performance Parts and iconic M livery. Meeting official MotoGP Safety Car standards, all three feature roof lights, additional lower air intake lights, and more. The G87 and long-roof M3 have front Recaro bucket seats, with the G87 having a six-point racing harness, and the M3, a four-point. Additionally, the quick wagon includes a gasoline extraction system, a safety cross beam, and an emergency disconnector.
