The BMW E34 M5 drag races the Mercedes 500E and Toyota Aristo 3.0 in this video below. The Toyota here is the least powerful of the three but had the most torque. The other two cars used naturally aspirated engines, a 5-liter V8 for the Merc and a traditional straight six for the M5, an engine that was developed based on the legendary M88/1 used on the BMW M1.
