Say the quota is 5000 COEs, so the highest 5000 bidders are successful. Are you saying the lowest of the top 5000 bids sets the price?

500 bid $90k, pay $90k
499 bid $80k, pay $80k
1 bid $72k, pay $72k

Pay as you bid is good, but it would be better to make it closed bidding. Having open bidding like this drives the market crazy. Dealers have to make a do or die decision in the last 5 minutes ==> lose rationality

Mkt really irrational now..hopefully some sense will come to the mkt soon..If breach 100k, i think govt gotta step in already...even duper rich expats will find it odd that they have to pay so high when back in their country is a duper cheapo ride...housing transport food prices rising...petrol too...wage machiam nvr rise leh...wahahhah!
