I am also comtemplating a set of new 18" shoes... think 18" is good enough, 19" may be too big.

One thing to note, the M-Sport Suspension already made the ride's suspension quite hard, and our ride is rather low on the road already. Changing to 19" may add on additional discomfort especially if you plan to do long-distance driving up north.

I just ordered a set of front and back BMW Performance brakes... also waiting for it to arrive. They will be under my stock 17" for now.

Thinking about the air intake... that would add additional roar to your cabin and extra throttle.

Opps.. mod virus spreading !

Heheheh no worries I've already got the mod virus dormant in me. It's just a matter of how terminal it can be ha!

Finally found the staggered 19"s setup that I've been hunting high and low for during lunch at Coco's today. The Breyton Race GT:

DSC04539.JPG

Front 8.5Jx19 ET35, Rear 9.5Jx19 ET35. Slapping them on with Goodyear Asymmetricals 235/35/19 on the front and 255/30/19 on the rear. Yes!

Zane and Heather were very friendly and helpful with my enquiries on the available staggered rims setup for 19"s on my new ride, which was frankly, quite a nightmare to find the past fortnight. Kudos to them both! :)

Take it from me - any place that tells you that Breyton staggered 19"s will only fit the 3ers and not the 1ers is just plain lazy. The original Breyton spacers will do the trick. And any place that claims that Breytons and all other brands only have all-rounds for 18"s is also giving you good 'ol BS.

I'm just glad that I finally got the rims that I wanted. And at a good price too!

bro, nope that car does NOT have rolled fenders and the 19s fitted great and its with 255x30x19 rears.

No offence bro, I guess I didn't make it clear enough - I meant to say that I heard from someone else who told me that I might need to roll the rear fenders if I wanted to slap on 19"s. No worries, now I know he's BSing me too hahahah. I'm getting the same setup as you! Different rims though. I am very very impressed by your ride - care to share where and how much you got your Hartge rear boot lid spoiler from?

so has anyone been able to upp the tuning of the 125i to 130i specs?

Yes tuning! Anybody? Cost and gains? More importantly, will it void warranty?

Your new baby's a beaut, Anna! How about a picture of it from the rear - you've got the spoiler slapped on right? Will I see you at the next meetup this weekend? Hopefully I'd taken delivery of my ride by then. Fingers crossed.

Nice shoes bro ! I was looking at the Breyton GTS Matt Black, 18". Not decided yet though. Do you have any worries about comfort level ? 19" with already lowered will it be too bumpy ?

Can. I've seen someone in UK with the same setup on ACS rims of the same dimensions. Bro e46monster also has the same size setup on his beautiful 135i I think - dude, can confirm for us?

In fact, I received a call from Heather earlier this afternoon informing me that the rubbers are already on the rims, as requested by me yesterday (so that they can just slap them on my new ride straightaway), and she didn't report any fitting problems.

Sigh. Why different shops say different things? I suppose it depends on what they have in stock hahaha.

Anyway, I was just told by Zane that Breyton HQ has informed that there is no need for spacers for the rims to fit on my new ride.:whatthe: I'm still not totally convinced, but I jokingly told Zane that if end up need spacers, I will make his supplier sponsor the original Breyton spacers lor hahah - not gonna make multiple trips to fix my wheels etc. They must be good to go shortly after delivery!

Yes dude, like you, I also had a tough time deciding between 18s and 19s - coz of the cost and ride comfort. And more importantly, whether 19s would rub, given the M-Sport Suspension and slightly lowered ride.

2 schools of thought lah. Some argue that 18s are just right for the 1ers, with decent costing and ride comfort; while some point out that upgrading from 17s to 18s is no point, since the visual and ride difference is almost negligible. Some also argue that 19s are the way to go since they fill up the wheel arches nicely. Subjective lah!

In the end, it all boiled down to the rims that moved me I guess. And whether stock was available. So if your heart's set on the Breyton GTS Matt Black 18s (yes they are pretty, I would slap them on if my ride was Alpine White), get them! Check out the usual places for best price, service and exactly what you want before committing. Don't let shops pressure you into getting something else simply because "no lah this model cannot fit your car", or "this brand don't make 18s staggered one" etc etc etc.

I know the ride will be harder on 19s and one will feel every stone on the road but I'm quite used to it already since my current Alfa is very much lowered already. It's ok for me. :sneaky:

I also found the ride in my friend's E90 running on Breyton GTS 19s quite comfortable so I don't see a problem with it.

Re: 125i Coupe

Congrats to your new ride bro!!

I really want to see how they slap a rim with +35 offset on a 1 series!!!

Bro Hamz's (120i cab) rims running +38 offset oready have it too aggressive as the rims & tires are oready sticking out of the car.

Post pics of your car with the new rims can????

Here you go:
Used BMW 130I 5DR Car for Sale from Singapore, - sgCarMart

That's obviously not my new ride (stupid delay - still fixing M Sport bodykit), but those rims are the ones that I've got my eye on.

I will post pictures of how they look on my ride when I take delivery. Which is taking waaaaaay tooooooo looooooooong. :furious:

That super chio 130i belongs to my friend.....kekekeke

But when you say your offset for the Breyton is +35 for your 125......quite unlikely it'll fit w/o protruding out of the car......please do check yah!

Cheers

U need a lower! The stance looks abit off to me =) NICE RIMS!

Thanks! I've already decided not to lower my future cars after my previous 156. Too much heartache to bear when you hear the sickening scrapping sound everytime you go over ridiculously high humps, even at dead slow speeds. I repaired and resprayed the lower lip on my Alfa so many times until I simply gave up in her last 2 years.

No lah cannot lah I won't lower this ride. :shakehea:

Re: 125i Coupe

I am using stock 18" rims and my undercarriage hit the hump when leaving j8 basement carpark even at slow speed. Can only avoid the hump at ultra slow speed....
