WTS: E60 M-tech Style Front Bumper

Re: WTS: E60 M-tech Style Front Bumper

LoL.. Power! Count me in... But i only drink coke...:nehnehhh:

Its Friday Guys.... Cherrio!

Re: WTS: E60 M-tech Style Front Bumper

I was the one that bought Golilok's rear spoiler. I have never met the guy.

The deal was agreed on pm/sms. Golilok even offered to deliver to my office. Some hiccups happened when SWC misplaced it, and he wasted a total of TWO trips to SWC to attempt to collect it. I was ok to wait, and was in no rush.

To my surprise, he contacted me and said its available now, and he made special arrangement to leave it with his security guard for me to collect, which is very near my office. To my greater surprise, when I collected it I realized that he actually got me a brand new piece. And all this just to honour his word, of which I was not even expecting him to. If the item could not be found, I was ok to call off the deal, take it easy. But it was really extremely heartwarming that he went to this extent, and kept in contact with me.

And get this... it wasn't a big ticket item, only $130. And he bothered to. So here's a neutral and factual feedback. I don't think many would go through that effort, spend that time and $$$ on petrol to do this. And we're not talking about schoolboy taking time to run a few trips for a $100+ sale. We're talking about working adults driving BMWs spending time and petrol just to make something right, and that was not even expected. I think he deserves for me to say something - thank you and you really need not do that. Very very steady.

For the bumper, I'm not gonna say who is wrong or wrong or who has bad luck there. But that is my experience when I bought his rear spoiler.

Re: WTS: E60 M-tech Style Front Bumper

Actually I do not know the two of you but what's preventing you two from calling or meeting each other to clear this up once and for all?

Yes the clips or what not are damaged and costs incurred and both of you are not in the wrong. So instead of slugging it out here no end, why don't you two meet in the middle and say, split the replacement costs? Or seller accepts lesser amount on a goodwill basis and buyer take the goods he bought? You post here and both of you have your factions and then it becomes a popularity contest.

My two cents

Re: WTS: E60 M-tech Style Front Bumper

My 2 cents worth of thoughts, maybe it is not a good idea to leave anything with any workshops after we take our things out from our car.

l have been taught a real big lesson that the workshop which l trusted for 2 good years actually took my original parts and sell it to others without letting me know or even bother to call me to inform me when he sold my parts . Best of all l only got to know when l demod my car in his workshop, all the parts that was replaced to my car were old parts that he could find in his workshop. When l questioned him what happened to my parts, he kept quiet. Worse of all, l heard from the other workshops around him and was told that he liked to sell original parts to others and even pick up parts from the rubbish bin when other workshop threw it away. Damn.....l feel so lousy for trusting a workshop which l patronise for 2 years without even going elsewhere. In the end, l went to another workshop to have certain changes done before selling my car. Till now although l am still sored about it as l do not believe there is this kind of workshop exist.

Although l do not know both of you and from both the postings and me standing outside the fence , l do believe both bros can talk things out over a beer. All the best bros and l believed both can resolve this professionally.

PS. l am not against any workshop but this is my own personal experience. :(

Come on Alvin and Golilok, you guys should meet up and settle this offline face to face... there's miscommunication somewhere and beside the 2 of you, the bumper is actually@workshop... Hope you guys can settle this amicably.

"What goes around, come around."

Re: WTS: E60 M-tech Style Front Bumper

thank u all for your attention. i have settled with RHD offfline.

i am writing this not to stir things up. but to let u guys know this was only brought online, cos RHD returned no calls nor SMS for 2 days. he had his reasons.

Re: WTS: E60 M-tech Style Front Bumper

golilok has told me the bumper (including the fog lights) are in good condition when passed to SWC..
which left with only one possibility i guess..
but i am not gonna pursue this further or to say who is right or wrong or to make any judgement already
and i paid the amount as agreed at the first place to golilok..
prolly the bumper will end up at junkyard soon..
so consider this case CLOSED and the bumper is NOT up for sale anymore..

But I will end this off with some consumer advise to prevent this kind of incident from happening to any forumers here again:
For the seller:
Be specific when giving the details to prevent misunderstanding.
This is an extract from what golilok sent me: "yes orginal and condition is good, cos I respray my whole car including that front bumper. I only used it for 1 week. when are u going to pick up> mike has already wrapped the front bumper ready for collection."
I think to most people this will mean the bumper is new instead of old but sprayed new

For the buyer:
Throughly check through the item especially the delicate parts before buying. Though trust is there between buyer and seller, there might be something cropped up in the middle which is not the seller's fault also.

It will be good if both the buyer and seller inspect the bumper during transaction together especially when the bumper is in the workshop so that the seller can verify that the bumper is the correct bumper and the buyer can point out the parts he/she feel is defective

Lastly, for bulky parts like the front and rear bumpers and side skirts, it will be good if it is fitted on the car to try the fitment before sending for spraying.. though time will be waste since the car got to be at the workshop for at least a day, but you will not get that much headache and potentially waste money on spraying if the fitment is not correct or defective..

Thank everyone who have made constructive comments both on this forums and also personally to me thru phone.. its much appreciated.. i hope this brings up the awareness of people buying parts to beautify their beloved rides and that this kind of incident will not happen again.. cheers and happy weekends..
