Would M5 rims be compatible with a normal e39?

Hi Les, i'm not on staggered. 19"x8.5J all round. Slight correction on tyre size, I'm running on 245x35x19 instead of 235 mentioned by Wil.:) OT - have you been in touch with Tony of late?

OT - Yes I have. We are the godparents to Natasha so have done our duty and popped in to visit from time to time. Just saw them on Sunday. End of OT....

Saw an M5 ***9192* at PML this morning.

U never go stare at the road tax disc? If manual transmission, another possible indication.

Boris,

I went to see the used "M5" rims juz now. Sibeh sui condition. Since u got M5, can advise me on how to tell whether they are replica or not? One tip given was that if replica, rims won't be staggered liao. Pls advise leh.

Wah! I cannot honestly tell you cos I have only had the M5 for a week. And the car has only been with me for about 2 days. Rest of time, car has been with various shops getting things like stereo, servicing, angel eyes etc done.

Perhaps the rest of the brothers here can help. I cannot tell the replica from the real deal....anyways, as piggy said, mine is a yam what! :laughlik:

Thankie. What is "yam"?

A pun on M. Some of the PML service staff refer to cosmetic carbon copies of M cars as Yam cars. eg. M3 replica is a Yam 3 and M5 replica is a Yam 5.

monster porsche for husband, monster bmw for wife.. life is good huh?

:)

Am not complaining....But seriously, if not for our OMV rules, these 2 cars could stay in the garage for a long time. Unfortunately, the tax rules are such that I will have to think very hard at year 5 and year 10 for the bmw and porsche respectively :(

yah that's the way to go if in a country that does not have car-life limiting laws. Solid lifetime cars that are continuously developed year after year.. they'd be such magnificent classics by year 20 or so and a huge attachment to them would almost inevitably develop. i consider that true "getting to know and love a car"

end of my OTing on this thread
