PARF still taken 10 years after original registration date... so 10 year new COE for fark? refund also must wait 10yrs frm ori reg date...

usually the PI service record unknown... aftersales is fucked....

and MILEAGE is 99.99% adjusted.... u think so many underutilised car in uk ah?

and the worst shit is OMV that some of them are only 50% of local agent's cars.... while selling price is similer or EVEN higher



so... used import is there for fark?

Actually, this was initially introduce for people who want to ship their own vehicles into Singapore for their own use. So say u live in UK for 3 yrs, bought a car there and now u want to drive it in singapore. The omv value sure lower since it is used. Need to get COE at the prevailing rate but since the car is already 3 yr old, the roadworthyness only 7 yrs left. And if u decide to bring in and sell it to someone, the car is registered as 2nd owner locally. So all these dealer must make clear to u when u buy a used import. This is my understanding so bros out there correct me if I am wrong.

Lucky me,i almost bought that montego blue 335 at M9 for 185k or below.Colour looks very chio on a bmw.
But when the manager inspect my july 07 523i XL,was quoted 108k by the salesman but manager said my a pillar got 2 big tweeter and if i remove my head unit there will be a hole on my console.in the end offer 105k,sibei tulan!
Went to another dealer 2 showroom beside them,tk in mine for 108k(no issue even on holes) and bought a 1yr9mth 335 for 190k.
2days later M9 salesman called me that price for my 523 maintain at 108k and 335 can neg another couple of thousands.
I told him i paid deposit liao,maybe i buy his if i strike 4D
Now that car still at their #1 showroom.
And after 1.5mths my ex 523 also cannot sell,maybe is the holes and head unit box not original

for some reason when u ask to see UK reg log card... service record and stuff they die die dont wanna show u...


FYI i went to look at a car....

chassis no. belong to 2007 YOM..... dealer in UK PDI was 2007.... first servicing was 2007...


but UK log card says first registred in 2008.... original reg date will be 2008.


go figure that out...

actually theres an episode on top gear saying that exported cars frm UK cannot buy one and all the shady stuff they do... anyone has that episode?

i called in...talked to the sales.. say car just reached a day...gonna go grooming... i asked whats the mileage.. he say 29k.... 3 year old car... i thought it was reasonable


i went down 3 days later.... it went down to 18k...

think alot of ppl does not know about this...parf value is calculated from the car's original reg date..lets say its original reg at 2007... but your reg your car here in 2011... actually your car only eligible for PARF rebates if u sold/scrap before 2017 but your COE can last until 2021...if someone blur blur dunno...he will get a shock if he wans to sell his imported used car after 2017... only COE value on paper...

So the policy is screwed from start. Why need to pay for full 10yrs coe in the first place then.

And yes, I too realise many used import are just as expensive as used agent or used PI cars in terms of straight line dep. Which is puzzling to me how they move these cars.
