The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

It's really frustrating to watch arsenal now... Oh well, we still have the premiership to play for.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

It was frustrating watching Man U too.... O'Shea and Gibson in central midfield...:wtf:

Bright sparks were Smalling, Vidic, Rooney....

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

AW needs to motivate his boys, and rally them for the BPL matches ahead.
the losses have a de-moralising effect...and the lack of confidence will surely affect their attacking play.

Strangely subdued Man U vs Arsenal FA Cup quarterfinal. Seemed like neither team really wanted to win.

Kudos to the Brazilian twins playing the wingers, must have surprised the gunners.

Welcome back, Valencia....

I thought it was a dumb team sheet and formation, until the game progresses...... he was trying to suffocate the Arsenal midfield and run them dry of ideas....... the Brazilian twins were fresh faces to Arsenal - just look at how Fabio ran through the centre for the first goal, and how Rafael dribbled the Arsenal defence for the setup of the second.

The United defence absorbed everything, with the silent hero of the game VDS claiming all the credits from his saves. He da man !!!

Arsenal might have played well in the midfield, but can hardly execute in the final third of the field. That's Arsene Archille's Heel.

Yeah.... VDS was magnificent .... SAF wishes he is 21, not 41...

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Wenger is outwitted in tactics again...i just feel he lacks the cutting edge in big games. maybe its the way he builds his team, pass pass pass movement, killer ball and then goal....he needs to think out of the box....cos lets admit it...not every team that tries to play like Barca will win...they are def playing football the 'right' way, the beautiful way....but end of day...football is a harsh biz...6 yrs wo a trophy...if they din win BPL this season...im afraid he has to go....

Difference btw Barca and Arsenal, aside from the technically superiority, is when Barca plays w team parking a bus in front of their defence...they can still bloody break them down...Way too good...Wenger needs to wake up and play some grit and heart to win important games...

Also one more thing...Wenger shld just stop whining bt teams parking their defence...lets face it...lesser teams will have to play like this..Birmingham, Bolton,Stoke..etc...then wat...open defence big big let yr players run rings...

except for Mourning-ho's Inter.
and some lesser La Liga teams who won becos of steely displays and potency at set pieces.

He forgot that soccer is about attacking and defending.

What excuses are used in concession of goals? That he does not own a bus?

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

arsenal mounting problems aside..barca might be on the verge of becoming all-great team of all time..see them play really lao cui lua..

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Another poor display from Arsenal. We seemed ok initially but ManU finished better. Congrats. Now we just have to aim for the BPL.

Is it just me or does it seem like the Arsenal players have all gone soft? Maybe their confidence is low but when I look at the Liverpool players (especially in the game against ManU) they all seem very fired up. Arsenal players look weak.

I think that the worst thing about this is the injury to DJ Oru. Can we ever finish a game with eleven men. Now that the DJ is no longer in the house for the rest of the season our defence is even weaker:errr:

Barcelona, for all their zest and flair, has hard men behind the flamboyant stars. Mascherano, Keita and Busquets are what Arsenal needs, post Vieira.

If Fabregass plays, you look so much more threatening. Without him, to be honest, Arsenal look pretty ordinary. Nasri has blossomed a lot this season, Wilshire has his moments, but not too many and Van Persie can create something out of nothing, but without Fabregass, it all seems to be hard work but no end product.

That's the problem... Arsenal are too reliant on Cesc. Players like Diaby and Denilson should leave the club as far as I am concerned.

There are too many players at Arsenal not up to the standard. The 2 players you mention can be added to Rosisky, Chamak, Eboui, Gibbs, all your goalies, most of your defenders with the exception of the Dutch chappie that is out injured.

I actually think you need a change at the top. Wenger seems to have gone as far as he can, or you need a super rich owner so you can compete in the transfer market.

Nani crying to leave Old Trafford

Nani is considering making a move from England to Italy after four seasons with Manchester United.

According to reports in the Guardian, the Portuguese has spoken with his family and agent, Jorge Mendes, about whether it is the right time to leave Old Trafford for greener pastures in Italy.

Although he is not unhappy at Manchester, the 24-year-old is reportedly bored and seeking a new challenge, if not this summer than almost definitely the next.

Nani believes that he has reached the same level as Cristiano Ronaldo and is looking at another Barclays Premier League or UEFA Champions League winner's medal to end his time at the club.

Sir Alex Ferguson has previously had to talk him out of leaving in 2010, but with Nani's current influence on the side, the damage will be all the greater, given his contribution this season of ten goals and 15 assists.

Nani has won the Champions League, the Club World Cup, two Premier League titles and two Carling Cups in his time at Old Trafford.

here say.......... rooney!

Sir Alex Ferguson is preparing to sell star striker Wayne Rooney this summer according to reports in Sunday's papers.

The News of the World claims the forward could be forced out of Old Trafford in the same way as David Beckham, after a rift developed between the England star and Ferguson.

Despite signing a new £250,000 contract just last year, the paper claims relations between Rooney and the United boss have become so strained that Ferguson wants to get rid of him before it starts to affect the rest of the team.

Late last year Rooney publicly expressed his desire to leave the club after he raised doubts about the quality of the squad and the club's ability to continue to attract top calibre players.
