@David - lol, juz got my ride leh......don't wanna be so ambitious yet

@Lorinser - resetting the ecu means reflashing rite? Sorry if it is a stupid question, so Hopelessly lost. I thot if install the powerbox no need to reflash as the result will be almost the same. And yes, I had change engine oil n ATF. I m trying to save some cost to hv the most effective method. Tks

@thunderbunny - yes it is a piggyback
As long as it pass running in period, juz whack lah. BMW is not supposed to be driven like Kuniang. Otherwise, it will act like kuniang.

Once whack fully for 1 - 2 days, ECU will adapt to more aggressive map.

Re: Reflash

alternatively, you can pass the car to davidtch to "train" your ECU
i'm sure davidtch won't charge you expensive ... kopi will do

Re: Reflash

Lol..... Appreciate all the advice given..... So glad this forum existed......

Re: Reflash

ugh sigh bros 5000kms on the odo, an oil change and volker sparks change later... the engine is still a kuniang whether i whack it orr not so now i decided to kuniang the car since it gets me 9.5-9.8km/l.

the engine would shudder and struggle to make torque under 2000rpms. my pre-LCI did NOT behave like that.

i would really love to have another bro test drive my car, and maybe test another bro's car. e90 320i... any bros here live in bt panjang?

here are the diy steps. some say it works, some say it didn't

Steps...

1) press start button (without stepping on brake) to turn on power. this will not start the car engine.
2) step on the accelerator down to the floor for 10sec
3) press start button to turn off power
4) remove foot from accelerator
5) wait for 2 minutes
6) start the engine like normal and drive

just to be absolutely clear, you can go through step 1 to 5 a few times just to make sure you did it right.

May I know will resetting the ECU 'clear out' your 'reflashed ECU'? If you understand what I mean... my ECU has been reflashed but not sure why I feel that my car tend to be a bit less performing after I have sent in to PML for servicing twice... maybe psychological or maybe pml has reset my ECU?? Any sharings?

Re: Reflash

as far as i know, clear adaptation values did not "reset" the ecu be it original or remapped ecu.
best is check with boss (nic) to ask alan test drive / to take a look :D

Re: Reflash

I will go against the flow and recommend reflash. If you are thinking of driving for the next few years, reflash is the way to go.

Re: Reflash

Who are the good reflash vendors? As in do they have brands like APR, MTM etc as in Audi and VW?

Did my 320i reflash with BOSS Motorsport. So far, happy as car picks up better and drives smoother... anyway, not much choice for 320i unlike the 6-cyl models.

Re: Reflash

Agree...i hope the TC 2012 models will have plenty of stuff!
