Hi all. With the ITB 100HD, to avoid the battery discharge with iDrive, what should we get? Tpower or power magic? I don't want to wire the camera to my car as I'm still in warranty. I called perfomance, they way doing so may void warranty.

Can fark PML. Buy a 1.5 mil property and you get 1 year warranty. The developer do not void warranty of the walk sockets if you plug in all sorts of electrical appliances.

Honestly, PML will always say tapping into car batt will cause battery issues but voiding warranty is probably due to kaisu tech staff there. They normally would say "advise not to tap into the car batt". U can try and challenge the staff to give u black and white... then if he really dares to give.... use it to bang table at management. There is no reason why a BMW cannot support aftermarket video cam.
If u dunno how bang table, Bro Wobbles can teach u his 18 dragons lotus palm.

this is where u all may be wrong
if u meddle with the battery (meaning u tap the power source for any gadgets), then any AD or PI may void the battery warranty. Read the warranty statements properly. It will say intended for the use of the car as it is or proper functioning of the car, eg radio, start engine, clock, etc etc that COMES WITH THE CAR. If you put simi gadgets inside (and which I have seen Ipads and LAN gaming consoles ok...) and then maybe off engine and u play or let your kid play games for 3 hours and battery die off, you cannot ask Ad or PI to come replace battery and say "warranty wat...my car only 2 months and battery die off"

Well...I want to avoid debate with PML bah, so I avoid tapping directly. Instead I'll just use the cigarette socket.
So what do you guys use to cut off the power? I always thought the car will cut off the power automatically, seems I was wrong.

Hehe... u got a point too. So moral of the story is..... ai mod mai kia.... ai kia mai mod.
If battery died, like mine did... go back PML ... they recharged it for me, then now running smoothly for last 6 mths. Actually that time the SA did mentioned it was because of the video cam but he never said void warranty.

there is a limit to the simi Buddha palm.
Just because PML or PI or any AD accedes to ur request/demand after ur simi Buddha palm or Beat Dog Rod does not mean you are in the right or they are in the wrong. They could just be being nice to you or do it on an "exceptional' basis or watever lingo they wanna call it..but up to a certain point if you everything also bang table threaten to unleash a thousand Shermans at them etc etc, they will (and have done so before) throw the book at you and you will lan lan.
I say this because it seems from many car forums and also this one, many meet with problems with their cars (through in part their own doing) will blindly follow advice to go bang table, threaten to write to simi BMW Asia, or GMbh or dunno who etc etc. I tell you, one day this will fly back into your face.
I have represented a "big" AD before and it related to a spoilt luxury car the female owner claimed to be defective and went through all your buddha palms and feet and dunno wat other orifices before she sued. She lost

Fair enough to say that battery died cannot claim warranty. If a customer install a camera (voltage and current ratings does not exceed limit of the output) in his/her BMW, then PML should not void warranty by simply issuing a blanket statement without any logic. I think this is the grey area where we can reason with with PML.

reason yes..and see which SA or which high up person u talk to, not buddha palm. Having said that...even if it does not exceed limit of output, a camera did not come with the car. Its an external gadget you installed without PML "approval" or "sanction" so to speak...and that is why ADs routinely say anything not installed by them (Read: rims, suspension, brakes, drop-in air filter, ICE, and I even heard engine oil...) "may" void warranty.
I give u one example I encountered... you install aftermarket coilovers like KW at your fav workshop, it may void your, ARB, control arm bushings etc (I am not a techie so I dunno how to list all things "connected" to installing suspension system...but u get my drift).. BUT if you install aftermarket ACS suspension system at PML...warranty sibeh intact like Super Glue..no issues

Agree with you on the suspension part. Mod whatever part just void warranty for that part and maybe the bushing. I think most are concerned that PML will void warranty for the whole ride. That is the reason why we get to see post like "Will PML void warranty if I install this and that...?".
Electrical issues could be worst. I won't be surprise to hear from the "technical expert saying "Sir, your car's bulb failed because of the after market camera installed in your car."
Best is buy pre-loved BMW.
