eh...so how ah? After all the buddha palm and beat dog rod...I still blur. Someone advise me on the cut off power thingy leh. haha

ciggie lighter power will cut off once the engine is turned off. at least this is what my E90 does.

Re: Itronics ITB-100HD Review

There is no right answer.

If u want parking mode where the cam will sense motion and activate on impact or movement. Then u have no choice but tap in car batt and use the power magic. So far no cases of battery dying due to video cam usage except mine. It did die some months back but was brought back to PML to recharge and works fine now. Not sure due to cam or other issues. U may have warranty issues on batt.

If u feel no need parking mode and don't want risk warranty. Then just tap the power from cigarette lighter. Video cam will only work when engine is on.

I think 3rd option of portable battery is too toublesome.

Re: Itronics ITB-100HD Review

Oh...ok ok.

If I understand correctly, once the engine is off the cam will shut down right?

But I noticed the light at the cam still on leh after I turn off engine. Just to be more clear, I pressed the Start/Stop button, the engine is off. I press it again, the radio goes off.

But the light at the cam still on. Is it the car will cut off power to the ciggie socket a bit later?

Re: Itronics ITB-100HD Review

15 mins is the power cut off time after ignition is off I think.

I see ok. Maybe I will monitor later. Thanks for the info guys!

But just to share...last time I left my GPS attached to the socket, even after I turn off engine.

And I realize my iDrive will display the battery discharge warning. And this was intermittent. Sometimes I on my engine in the morning, the battery discharge message will appear. Other times it doesn't

PML informed me that as long as there's electronic components attached to the ciggie socket, it will detect some form of discharge.

Agree with you on the suspension part. Mod whatever part just void warranty for that part and maybe the bushing. I think most are concerned that PML will void warranty for the whole ride. That is the reason why we get to see post like "Will PML void warranty if I install this and that...?".

Electrical issues could be worst. I won't be surprise to hear from the "technical expert saying "Sir, your car's bulb failed because of the after market camera installed in your car."

Best is buy pre-loved BMW.

PML or any AD or even PI wun void warranty for the whole car if you, say, install aftermarket HID kit... if they say so, then u r rightfully entitled to use your watever level of Buddha palm on them for being retards.

Re: Itronics ITB-100HD Review

I have read someone in the forum installed portable battery for video cam but can't recall where. Try search button..... Mw.... search button pic please.

there is a limit to the simi Buddha palm.

Just because PML or PI or any AD accedes to ur request/demand after ur simi Buddha palm or Beat Dog Rod does not mean you are in the right or they are in the wrong. They could just be being nice to you or do it on an "exceptional' basis or watever lingo they wanna call it..but up to a certain point if you everything also bang table threaten to unleash a thousand Shermans at them etc etc, they will (and have done so before) throw the book at you and you will lan lan.

I say this because it seems from many car forums and also this one, many meet with problems with their cars (through in part their own doing) will blindly follow advice to go bang table, threaten to write to simi BMW Asia, or GMbh or dunno who etc etc. I tell you, one day this will fly back into your face.

I have represented a "big" AD before and it related to a spoilt luxury car the female owner claimed to be defective and went through all your buddha palms and feet and dunno wat other orifices before she sued. She lost

I agree with MW.

Whether be it my previous Japanese ride or my current E60, you may be surprised to receive some freebies/goodies during the effective warranty period of the ride. For both rides, I got my aircon compressor replaced with a brand new one (they are stilll in working conditions)...and an extention of part warranty up to another 2 years...and that's not the only item I've got so far.

As I have understand from some of the SA, it's all about the nature of requests and also the attitude when you requesting for it....but sometimes, it take a bit of the luck too...e.g like for the same SA, I couldn't get what I want/intend to have but it could be granted to another owner...if you query or even confront the SA, they could simply tell you that situation/scenario/condition of the ride is different & blarr blarr....

Most of the cases, the SA will also informed you that do not spread the goodies around so much....as for each request, some reports would have to be prepared by them to justify each request, with supporting documents including servicing records, modifications (non-PML) done so far & etc....in my view, that sounds reasonable and in fact, that's how most of the corporate is doing....

At times, in my opinion nia hor....letter of commedation maybe better than a letter of complaint....above just my 20 Indian rupees (cents) worth of thoughts....well, not expecting all to agree but at least it works so far for my case...

Re: Itronics ITB-100HD Review

Hi guys. I have been testing the ITB for 2 days now. So far a couple of problems

1) Since today, periodically the unit will beep 4 times continuously.
I checked the manual and it indicates SD Card issue. I will try to reformat the SD card and see if this problem persist

2) Some recorded files cannot be viewed using the software. It says "Wrong Video File Type to Play". Any1 experience this?
I have about 124 avi files. 4 have this problem.

Seems to be...went to another installer and he told me initial power was just tapping from the wires below my steering column and not direct from Cig charger. He had to re-wire and its ok now...
