go for it! I have no issues so far. Can get from Eng Soon. DIY.

Can share how much from Eng Soon? Got mine online for less than $700 (original ones). Yeah, DIY. Fitment is 99%. Need to use black silicone to cover the non-perfect fitment.

If u haven't seen one from afar with those splitters, u might wanna experience it first. As chongster mentioned, it looks kinda strange from a distance. I have not seen that on frozen grey before, but on a light coloured car, it's pretty off. It hides the side lower lip and only the middle portion is visible and looks like a gaping mouth.

Bro, the cf splitters or other front lips are a must, else it will look very stock from far and cars in front cant tell the difference betw a 3 series and an M~~!!!:lol2:

But beware, the splitters are slightly lower than the centre mouth. Need to slow down significantly when approaching humps. Else either your splitters will crack or fall off from the bumper. So far I hv been very careful and no probs so far. Multi-storey oso ok. At stock height, it is still a good 8 fingers gap from the floor. If you lower you ride, may be compromised.

I found this on Ebay. Recommended in another forum. Anyone tried this?

Re: Front Splitter or No?

Get the original ones which are full carbon fibre bro. Replicas are just cf overlay and fitment not guaranteed.

Here are some pics of cf splitters on an AW Edition Model:

Re: Front Splitter or No?

First up... not driving a M.. ha.. so dun mind my post.

Personally I got a "original" bmwp front spiltter for my baby bimmer from my recent trip in Taiwan (source from ebay, then went straight to the shop to buy and see the carbon weaves). Fitment is almost perfect. Fitting it though is slightly challenging but not rocket science. (Any reputable workshop should be able to install).

My 2 cents worth. With front splitters, there is always a risk of scrapping... So why buy an original and so expensive ones where you will definitely somehow someday scrap it? They are meant to be "trash" so imho, just get the "A" class replicas...

Then again... I'm not driving a M.. maybe the M bros would prefer the original ones.

Original bmwp front splitters for my ride cost almost $800-1K (excluding installation). Got my replica ones for $300 ($0 installation thanks to my workshop 8)). Looks real to me.. haha..

Re: Front Splitter or No?

hi nizam,

there are many grades of replicas out there with varying prices.
eg, the ones on the orange bmw, try not to buy those.....already very wavy looking from the naked eye..

i will give china made ones a miss cos seen so many, quality and workmanship still not that mature as taiwan....taiwan made ones still got more standard, ie quality.

if u got 1k to spare buy originals, but u scared scrapping and etc, just buy a taiwan one for 300+,400+ (depends on quality).

have fun.

Hi, may I ask if your ride is lowered? I know there aren't any problems for cars sitting at stock height, but for lowered cars, doesn't it get a bit dicey?

Re: Front Splitter or No?

I also think the overall front spoiler appeals better than the splitters. I have the vorst spoiler on my lowered ride, most of the times there is no problem of scraping on bumps, however some condos are not so kind to lowered cars with the crazy bumps!
But then once u go there, u never ever go back simple ;)

Also if you like to clean your car, you wouldnt want those replicas as the lack of symmetry in laying the fibre ruins it (for me).

Re: Front Splitter or No?

I am running the Performance splitters and I can tell you that the fitment is about 80% only. It's slightly too big and could use some grinding to fit better. The experience from US forums are the same. Hit or miss. Terrible for an original BMW part.

My ZCP car is not lowered and the front corner of the splitters do scrape a little bit on some carpark ramps. Be careful.

Thanks for saving me some money. That is crap fitment if not 100%.

You can tell the replica from the original stuff. The one you showed from ebay, the edge near the wheel arch is flat. The original ones have a right angle "hook" to lock into the wheel arch for better fitment. Anyway, original is less than $700 (if you know where to get them) while replica is $300. One should make the call himself of which to get.

Where can one get the originals for less than $700? Do share this with us.

I'm on the competition coilovers with the Vors front spoiler. As rathoras mentioned, there are no major issues running around. However there are definitely still some areas where you will hit the front lip. With that being said, that same area could jolly well also hit a bumper without spoiler.
