Re: Features that I never knew

There are 2 drinks' holders for the rear passengers in the e90. I didn't know this until like 6 months later.
To make me feel better, someone please tell me that you also don't know.

Trying to make you feel better, but i afraid can't... my kids discovered that in the first 60seconds in the car! :whatthe:

here's another one.... the CD Player can play MP3s (not sure from which year onwards).... seems common sense, but my friend didn't know this.

Re: Features that I never knew

my rear view mirror (auto dimming) has a small screen (2cm by 1cm) on top which says "no card' when i start the car. guessing its the ETC card (highway toll card) cos mine is a parallel import from japan.

Yep! This has happened to me many times too. I use it to keep the petrol cards and always get scratched when coming back in cos I leave it open. Blue-black not so bad... the sharp corners of the lid can scratch quite badly. I think all cars have this compartment so it has happened to me whatever car I drive.

Re: Features that I never knew

Hi guys, just found another two features that i did not know:

1. our cars (assuming e90) window button will go up and down automatically on 1 touch. but when you open the dorr, the window and try to wind up / down, it is not automatic. I guess it's a safety feature..

2. our lightings knob (the onw with the controls for the lighting) is sticking out of the console. You can actually push in and the knob will be "flush" with the surface. sometimes when we get out / in of the car, we may knock on this control knob so keeping it in is a good idea. ;)

call wife bring-in by bus, and I borrow supplier's car waiting her at JB custom. But, original rushing smooth traffic before 3 pm, at the end have to go by Tuas at 5 pm. :-(

Re: Features that I never knew

not too sure if this applies to all sound system in the bmw range...

if u "finger over" (without pressing the button of course) the 1 2 3 4 radio buttons, the idrive will show u a preview of the radio channel (e.g. frequency, name of the station etc), without interrupting the channel u r on...

;)

Re: Features that I never knew

Just found this out recently.

Dunno when it is activated, but when you activate the wipe, the two little square thingie infront of your headlights sometimes comes up and spray your headlights.

Not sure why is that useful but i do noticed that most continental cars have it but more japanese cars dont.

Bimmer windows are that strong??

guess all windows are strong due to size and support when door closed. few years back friend's Mazda locked at JB custom when he get down to present passport, coz serious jam behind, no choice borrow fire extinguisher from custom to break the window.

And another one:

If you tilt the driver side mirror down while reversing, the mirror returns itself to the original position after you turn off the engine. :)

bro, this is good but not working on my 08 made E90, only for newer and certain model?

bro, tried all direction but does not work on my 08 made E90. Could it be only newer model?

That's the headlight washer. Not really useful in Singapore with our sunny / rainy weather. In sandy / snowy weather, useful....

The headlight washer will not activate if you switch off your lights. However if your lights are switch on, and you activate your windscreen washer jet, the headlight washer will activate together. I also knew this from a bro's post in this forum.
