E92 M3 Engine

Re: E92 M3 Engine

not his style. Let's have a guessing game.

I am suspecting that it would be a Porker.

A 911 997 C2S. It's his style. It fits him.

Not a C4S because that car is a puss and heavy like shit.

Not a targa because he is not that kind of wuss.

Not a Cayman or Cayman S because it is the baby entry - 3M always goes at least for the mid-high end.

NOT a 911 cabrio because he is too honourable to the stiffness religion.

Not a Maser because he cares nothing about the unmodded fundamental aesthetics.

Not an Audi because he appreciates a little bit of lightness.

Not the new M3 because he already had the E46 before.

Not the Z4M coupe because he already tasted the engine before. Even though he loves it and would dearly want to buy it.

Not the Z4 3.0SI because one who has tasted 330HP cannot survive with 270HP.

Not the new Evo coz it is a heavy dog and really, he already had a Subbie.

Not the 335 coz he can't stop the pull at only 6000rpm

not the S2000CR because the new one is coming out.

Not the Ferrari because he has an eye for value and the Ferrari whatever model, although great car, is of poor value.

Not an Elise, he doesn't love driving that much to take the crap. Not an Exige too for the same reason.

M5 and M6 has been around and is basically a fatter heavier boy than the M3. Enough of that I guess.

No Lambo, Pagani, etc. for the same reasons as ferrari.

No Mercs, at least not yet. The AMG 63 is nice but the chassis is not so great.

Can't think of any more cars!

Re: E92 M3 Engine

Wah thanks!

If you consider a Porker though, keep in mind that there's a worldwide price increase very soon though it may not matter to you :) Small price increase only, in SG probably about ... 6% considering the tax.

Re: E92 M3 Engine

6% still about 30 to 40k man.... not little... but then again, I is poor... wahahaha!

but right now, there is not much around to excite me except the 997 Turbo...

I seriously think it will be a porky too. Maybe a GT3?
That, my friend, will be such a cool thing. But if he considered until the GT3, can Jack stop at the GT3 knowing full well that the GT3 RS exists?

Re: E92 M3 Engine

Maybe 3M is considering the 997 GT2 !! 500+ HP RWD stock twin VTG turbo, ultralight. The market is doing well.

I would love to have a 572 crate man but oil prices nowadays???

Large displacement engines really only suffer poorer fuel consumption under partial loading (start stop driving, low speed cruise) since you have small mass burn and large surface areas across which heat energy is lost. At high loads as in track use or high speed cruise, they beat smaller displacement engines, power constant, because of superior surface area to volume ratios and lower friction from lower engine speeds.

You could build an 800 inch aluminium big block that could go 48 hours of racing effortlessly, and consume much less fuel than a 200 inch screamer.

Re: E92 M3 Engine

New E92 M3 is open for booking.....360k est price

OK then. More and more the M3 looks like a good car. But then you gonna get a lighter rear engined car then? Nothing more to decide, I guess. Pricing is all revealed, just that the M3 reviews are not yet out. We more or less know what's it gonna be about ... love the dynamics, hides its bulk, etc.

The engine is too much a gem but the chassis is ... too compromised. Even if it's the E92, the engine is the one like god's hand pushing the car, so it's still not worthy.

Re: E92 M3 Engine

Good engineering but missing a few things to be exciting:
1. No Dry Sump lubrication..wanna take on Porkys?
2. Still no big brake kit...yikes....wanna take on Porkys?
3. Car is ard 1665kg..piangz...can fight with the Audi Quattro but wanna take on Porkys?
