Change to another set of coilovers or go back to stock?

Went to rifle range road last night.

The hills and valleys there scrapped my front bumper. It was really bumpy and I am on stock suspensions. Cannot tahan.

That is also the place to watch out for the monkey armies there especially if you have long hair and drive topless. It might just jump down from the trees and pull your hair.

Oh no. Not for ac323.

It hit the bottom. But the taxi behind must be quite pissed.

To get through the deep bumps......I drove like slow like an ass in a S shape on a single carriage lane to avoid more damage all the way to the main road.

All I can say is - it was dark and bumpy. All the taxi could say is "what the ......".

Alvin, if you cannot stand ST coilover, then you shouldn't change to another coilover. Because ST is one of the softest around.

On the bouncy feeling, not sure what it meant exactly. Maybe u can describe more.

Anyway I suggest u stick to it. If you cannot take it or when it spoils one day, then change back to stock.

On the bouncy ride, it feels like the coilovers have very little dampening effect such that the car feels very choppy, rising and falling too much over road undulations - much like a boat through choppy waters.

I don't think the ST coilovers are completely worn out yet but I can't say the same for my endurance. I think I'm quite close to throwing in the towel.

Our roads are getting worse by the day. Stock handles the best for our kan lousy roads

I think it's a waste to change it. When I first got my coilovers ..... It was bouncy. Then later after settling in it was fine.

Agree it's a waste. But it's not as if I didn't give it a good go. I think 6 months is more than enough time to settle and it's not working out for me.

6 months is long enough ...... Change it. Have you considered the Koni FSDs ?

As for TS, from what I heard, lowering spring w stock shock might not be any softer compared to coil and you cannot adjust the height.

Plus the shock will wear off prematurely due to constantly "pressured" by the lowering spring.

If it's gg to be as stiff as ur coil then might not be worth changing.

Yes, I've heard that pairing lowering springs with stock shocks will wear out the shocks prematurely. If I want to go stock, I may have to go completely stock and live without the lowered looks. But where can I find stock springs?

R2D is at Woodlands and quite out the way for me but will keep in mind. Many thanks.

Buy the msports suspensions. At least can lower by a few cm.

The thought did cross my mind. But this will cost more I suppose.

R Logic is good and not ex.

Re: Change to another set of coilovers or go back to stock?

I called the stockists and they don't keep stock of coil springs, as they are durable and don't normally need to be changed. Only Integrated Global bothered to give me a detailed quotation.

The stock suspension system comprising shock absobers, coil springs and the attendant parts cost around $2,250. The Performance suspension cost around $3,200 (I'm told the M Sports Suspension is no longer available). And I still have to add labour and alignment charges.

Given the cost, I'm having second thoughts about reverting to stock.

Any advice on aftermarket options if I don't go the coilovers route? Would welcome recommendations for matching shocks and coil springs.

Koni fsd shock absorbers, about $1600
