It's 18" actually and came with the car. I was quite happy with 17" on stock suspension on my previous E46.

Yes, it's a whole new "set"
But they say you might need to change the mounting like $60 a side

Many thanks. Will give J4C a ring.

Just received a quote from Juzz For Cars: Approx $2,050 for Koni FSDs + Eibach Springs and a further $500 or so for the attendant parts I'm missing. So that's $2,600 for this set up. Could you have remembered wrongly or was the $1,600 a promotion price some time ago? The guy, See Toh, said the Koni FSDs alone cost around $1,400.

Oh, yeah, now that I recalled, that price is for using back stock springs :(

If that price rather you go for coilovers, you can adjust to make it "feel stock"

Yeah, it's pretty steep and the guy from Juzz said I could go for the KW V1 for just a bit more. But having experience the current ST coilovers, I'm a bit hesitant. My primary concerns are ride comfort, durability and the absence of clunking noise that I understand is not uncommon with coilovers.

Re: Change to another set of coilovers or go back to stock?

Just an update: my coilovers appear to have settled somewhat and the ride is less jiggly. It doesn't feel quite as controlled as when I first took possession of the car but at least it's tolerable now.

Still, coilovers vs aftermarket shocks + lowered springs vs stock shocks + stock springs is a decision I have to make somewhere down the road. It seems brothers here are firmly split between two camps - coilovers vs stock (aftermarket shocks + lowered springs appear to involve some compromise).

Hope to hear more comments.

Try both ...... Get a bro to let you try at the next meet up ?

Re: Change to another set of coilovers or go back to stock?

I'm also undecided between getting coilover or sticking to M sports suspension. Key consideration is $$, and the road condition (coilover will be too bumpy).

Re: Change to another set of coilovers or go back to stock?

It may be suspension / shock absorber if your car is doing more than uneven bouncing.
Jiggling could be due to wheel alignment. Have you had a change of tyre recently?

It think its not that it has settled but you have come to terms with it.

The ride comfort is not going to change. Stiff suspension are jiggling because of the (poor) road condition.

Re: Change to another set of coilovers or go back to stock?

Would like to post an update with pictures but can't seem to upload my jpg files using the "Insert Image" function in the message tools.

I can select the jpg files from my Desktop but when I try to upload, I get the following error message:
500 [IOErrorEvent type = "ioError" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Error #2038"]

Any idea what's wrong?

Re: Change to another set of coilovers or go back to stock?

I was using API coilover for half year, it was great on highway and Singapore road. But when i driving in Malaysia kampung road, bumpy bumpy.

Recently swap back to stock, very good and soft.

Now looking someone to buy over my coilover.

Coilover good on sport style driving, if want real comfort , stock is the best.

Re: Change to another set of coilovers or go back to stock?

Hi, i am BC R-logic (changed < 1 mth) and 19", previously on BC V1. maybe it is still running in, feel the R-logic abit hard/stiff. For the price I paid, can't complaint, with good warranty. However, do prepare to pay once warranty runs out, i feel it is about time these BC w last.

i have not tried other better brands, but if you really can pay more, go for better ones.

Stock are always the best, but if you don't mind the look.

Re: Change to another set of coilovers or go back to stock?

Just to update my posts last year.

My coilovers finally called it a day. The workshop helped me source for a set of used springs (from a 335 I'm given to understand) and I got them installed a couple of days ago, along with new Sachs shocks.

While I expected to bid goodbye to the lowered looks, I was quite taken aback by how much the front end, in particular, was raised. The gap between the tyre and the wheel arch is now huge and I'm wondering if there's something wrong.

I've been trying to insert a picture of how it looks but have been experiencing problems with the "Insert Image" function in the reply tools. In the absence of pictures, I'll just say that the the gap for the front wheels is about 4 fingers while that for the rear wheels is about 2 fingers. Is this normal?

The workshop claims that for stock suspension, the gap for the front wheels is always bigger than that for the rear wheels. A casual observation of bimmers appears to bear this out but of the E90s that I've observed, the gap at the front isn't as pronounced as mine. The change seems to have totally killed the rakish profile of the car.

Would be grateful for any comments.
