Just sharig my feedback...

I just sent my car in to MA last week for the update.
Service was good and efficient. Great customer service!!

After the first visit, it seemed to be perfect - the side mirrors unfolds when the doors unlock (a nice upgrade!), gear changes seemed smoother, etc. ... Couple of days later I realized the driver's window didn't have the auto-up function anymore. Ok no worries, so I went to MA again this morning to get it sorted... Was told the car's ready in the late afternoon, but when i went to collect it, the problem's still there!! Even worse, now I'm advised not to use the window until they find a solution cos the sensor somehow triggers the "anti-jam" feature and the window will unwind itself slightly (safety feature). Apparently there's an error with the air-con as well. Sigh.

Now I have to make a 3rd trip down tomorrow - really hope it gets sorted.
Maybe mine's a lemon. Double sigh!!

Oh dear, that's a bummer... hope you don't get caught in heavy rain before you get it fixed.
However, I don't think those malfunctions are because of the upgrade, just faulty parts which need replacement.
Fingers crossed they will fix it mate!

Agreed. Most of us have already done the software upgrade and so far don't think anyone have encountered any window related issue. You may want to check the settings in iDrive, that may solve your "problem"

Hi droopy,

When I was collecting my 116i last Friday night at PML after they have done the software update, there was another F20 driver who was encountering a similar problem as you, I believe. The security guard walked over to me and asked me to test my windows to see if they could wind up and down. He then told me the other driver seemed to be having some issues with the windows not going up or down (can't remember exactly).

So I guess you are not the only one affected by this issue. Hopefully this helps.

Incidentally, my brakes are squealing every time I step on it today. What I found was that if I brake harder, there are no squealing sounds. But if I brake gently eg. coming to a stop at the traffic lights etc, I will get the squealing sounds - pretty loud too.

1. Juz noticed that when my car is reversing to the left during parking, there seems to hv some funny sound coming out, I duno whether it's my new tyre rubbing the side wall or the aircon sound.. Still trying to accertain. But seems like aircon leh, coz my tyre is 225/40/18, shldnt affect I think. Tried reversing to the right, no sound... Weird!!!

2. Heard some funny sound fm my interior as well... Even on flat ground, seems like my car seat or door is nt screwed tight.

Anybody got tis 'sound' or irritating noise???

i have noise coming from the door, PML fix it.

now only brake noise and sound from outside.
next week going to PML again.
damn sian.

Changed to 18" liao!

There should not be any rubbing if your offset is within the acceptable range or did you also lowered your ride.

If persists, try check tyre balancing again.

Bro kelvin, so wat did they do to ur door? I think the sound fm comes fm the door, mayb sometimes close nt so tight, then as the car moves, rubbing this the noise...

Hi Tk,

I have the same issue with the brakes as well. The car has a squeaking sound when braking at very low speed, but guess that's still bearable compared to the windows issue. I hope they solve it today....

Was told my car's ready for collection at 2pm and testing was done thoroughly... collected at 2pm tested it - ok at the service centre. The moment I drove off, the window problem came back and now even the right rear passenger window has the same issue.

Now my car's back at MA doing rectification (again).
What a load of time wasted.
I really really hope they sort it out once and for all - It is really getting frustrating...

Like the plastic is loose. mine is on both doors.
Going back next week to try to fix my brakes again.
