10W60 is crazy unless you have an M car or track or redline your car often

Our start stop traffic requires 30 or 40 oils...
ur mechanic is crazy! You car will drag like an old grandma, tats why FC high

yeah man, damn! i will be posting used engine oil for sale on wts section soon, mileage around 1k only, good condition. buyer to pay for all labour costs...... but i do not start /stop much, i use the car mostly at nites after 11pm n i use the expressway most of the time.
ps, i do not stop at red lights too:yikess:

i will still use ?W-40 or max ?W-50 if engine eats oil heavily
even car is 5 years old ... we drive like mickey mouse the engine is not being bashed up everyday unlike 2ton lorry dragging with black smoke coming out ...

been bringing my own oil for servicing previously, but it was a last minute decision as i thot since i was changing out a blown signal bulb n workshop not busy, might as well service. used ROAR oil before this (n also on my civic type R) n it does give better mileage n power, but it's a bit expensive. anyway, will do a change to 40 soon......

Re: 0w-30 and 5w-40 engine oil for F10

Anyone know the oil capacity for N20 4 pot engine? Thinking of doing in between interval oil change cause 12000km seems like a really long time for me.

5k too fast lah unless you are always in start stop traffic..

I think 7-8k is good enuff if normal driving conditions...

But I was told tat if u like to change oil frequently (which is a good thing), then get normal oil is good enough, no need expensive oil

Maybe u can do used oil analysis to determine whether u need to do oil change at every 5k. Mxtrading has used oil analysis kit.
