I was in that situation before. I was mesmerised by the 4series but at the same time needed more space for my expanding family. Tried both cars and in the end went for X3. 4series is really sleek and handling is for sure better than X3 but X3 trumps functionality and is also at the same time a very handsome car with a lot of road presence imo.

I guess it really depends on what are your requirements?

oh and i still oogle at 4series everytime i see one on the road haha
