Re: WTS: Black 18" Rims w Toyo T1 Sports for e60

Hi,

Just want to let you know, the set is complete crap. Car vibrate like crazy after changing, high speed balancing doesn't help. In the end found out the tyres are out of shape, so no choice had to change a sets of new tyres. After that, still vibrating, then after some high tech balancing, found out the rims are not completely symmetrical also. Spent $800 for the new tyres, still did not solve the problem. Looked like have to change new rims, or another new set of tyres if I want to fit back my original 17" rims.

Cost went way above my budget. Not sure if you already know of the problems when you listed the set for sale, but I'm so pissed with this whole saga right now.

U bought the set from fu3go?

Hey, sorry to hear abt this.
I am truly not aware of this issue
I did told you in the first place, I got this rims together w the car and shortly after I changed to a 19" rims and the rims was left at the shop since last yr late apr. (If you follow my post on my car, you will see the time I changed my rims)

When I reach the shop that day, I only saw ur car happily fitted w the rims and ure pretty happy with the tyres condition then.
Would hv assumed you done your check.

Just find it weird that you only voice out after slightly more than a mth of usage and during this whole time, you didn't msg me through forum or even my mobile.

Personally I think it's abit unfair if ure blaming me.

Some members who have deal w me would know I'm v open and will provide every details I'm aware of before I sell anything.
If I know, I would hv inform you. =)

But I can understand your frustration as I have my fair share of these.
Then again, 1 mth is quite a long time, it's hard to pinpoint who's fault is it now.
If you hv voice this out a few days after collecting. I would hv refunded you.
After a mth, I'm sorry can still treat you kopi.
=)

Seems like your tyre shop smoking around with you and you don't know where to vent your anger.

Re: WTS: Black 18" Rims w Toyo T1 Sports for e60

I wanted to narrow down the problem 1st. I was away for reservist for last 2 weeks, did not have time to follow up with the problem. I am a reasonable person, did not want to finger point anyone until I get the situation clear. Things that happened along this 1 month;

1) Sent for normal balancing - Failed
2) Rotation - Failed
3) High speed balancing - Failed
4) 2 weeks reservist
5) Checked up on lower control arms and bearings
6) Sent for high tech high speed balancing at H-Tyre using the latest technology - Finally found out that the tyres were out of shape
7) Changed a set of new tyres, drove around for a while - Failed
8) Sent back for high speed check again - Found out the rims were also out of shape

I guess with the amount of effort and time I spent on the troubleshooting loop, 1 month is reasonable?

FUGO, I just want to check if you know about the problem. If not, then I can just say it's my bad luck for getting crappy stuff. I was vaguely hoping for a refund... though I know how that is almost impossible.

SUPAN, I know 2nd hand stuff is not perfect. FUGO should know, I made known to him I dun care so much on the asthetic as the set was not brand new. I just need something to tide me over for the last 1 year of my car. But if the rims and tyres are not able to deliver even their most basic functions, then it should not be listed for sale at all.

Re: WTS: Black 18" Rims w Toyo T1 Sports for e60

Also, FUGO, yes, honestly, I was happy with the tyre condition as it met my expectation of having at least 60% thread left. What I did not forsee was the tyre being out of shape. And that could not be noticed with the naked eye (unless the tyre has deformed so much it's now a square shape?). So I was satisfied with what I can see at that point, but not satisfied with what I could not see.

I do not know about the condition of the rims but I think you may have been smoked by the tire shop as well.

It's easy to determine if rim is bent, and there is no need to use high speed balancing to check. Normal balancing equipment will work.

It is also not difficult to determine if it was a rim or tire problem.

Also, High speed balancing is not meant to solve vibration issues for normal speed driving (I assumed it is vibrating at normal speed).

Not putting you down or anything but seems like you were on the road to kenna carrot.. Dirty sales technics will usually be the case that they know for the fact that you fill them in about what you bought from someone and then tell you stuff to make you feel horrible and uneasy about yourself and then they sell you their own 2nd hand rims.. Just my 2 cents

So by openly posting here, what are you trying to achieve? Cos like what the seller said, you did not get back to him by PM or even drop a msg on his mobile.
1.If you're trying to vent your anger out, this is not the avenue for you to do so.
2. If you want to gain sympathy, I think many would agree with my view too. ( you're not getting mine)
3. If you want a refund, I doubt that's gonna happen. (Let's just say for e.g., you went to change to another set of rims and you found out the vibrations still there.. How? Come and say sorry here?)
4. If you wanna warn buyers from such a seller, I believe you're not the only one who have purchased things from this seller. He's a nice young chap with a generous heart.

So, what is your motive?

All, with my engineering background, I do understand a little bit of what the balancing computer readout meant. And like I said, going through the loop of troubleshooting took me almost 1 month, as per my engineering practice. And FYI, I did not change the tyres there on the spot, I took it to another shop. I just want to clarify matters with FUGO here.

But seemed like we are getting a lot of useless comments and opinions. I will just close this matter, and assume 100% responsibility then. Thank you ya'll and have a good day.
