Where to watch F1 if dowan to get Mio?

Anybody knows which establishments show Formula 1 races? It's coming to July soon, and from Silverstone onwards, one cannot watch F1 on starhub anymore. I'm not about to subscribe to a completely new box just to watch one single program every 2 weeks.
And therefore next best thing is to go out to an F&B outlet to watch.

Any ideas?
How about group watch at someone's place?

Re: Where to watch F1 if dowan to get Mio?

Actually I got a lot of sports to watch on Mio - EPL, CL, F1, Wimbledon, Open Championship, etc.... but die die will not be cornered to subscribe. Better let pub/bar owners who are already subscribing earn my money.

Hmm, I better check that these pubs/bars aren't owned by Singtel or Temasek... and that they are located in private buildings.... :p

Re: Where to watch F1 if dowan to get Mio?

i have been missing the news.. can someone hi-lite how the h3ll did starhub lose the F1 broadcast? did Starsports lose it?
thought starbub lost the EPL.. didn't know they lost boat load of sports too...

Re: Where to watch F1 if dowan to get Mio?

They basically lost the main ESPN channel, and Star Sports along with it.

Think my wife will be the most thankful to Singtel.

SopCast

Otherwise there are several anonymous proxy providers - who for a tenner - will let you have a UK IP address. Given that working, you can watch the practice, qualifying and the race live on F1 | ITV Sport

Same boat. No way I am paying more money to StinkTel

Re: Where to watch F1 if dowan to get Mio?

thanks very much guys, for the solutions. However they are usually internet broadcasts, which, if the connection goes wonky, will be a big disaster during the race itself, and no good for watching in the living room since my laptop does not connect well with the TV. Guess many people are also like me, TVs not nicely wired up to internet. siannnnnnnnnnn

anyone else knows which bars out there screen F1? Luckily the canadian one is still in June. Meaning we can still watch the past-midnight race at home. And the rest of the races are in Europe and Asia, which means they end at about 10+pm. With the exception of Interlagos.... Who wants to watch F1 at the pub till 3am man... For this race maybe i'll stream it from the internet.

Thanks to singtel, who because of EPL singlehandedly screwed us of a reasonably priced world cup too. I've decided not to sign up for world cup this time. $90 = 3/4 tank petrol okayyyyyy.

Sopcast used to show on CCTV5 (commentary in Mandarin though)... but the channel's not up anymore.

Shawn, you'll be surprised by the quality of p2p tv thru Veetle. I used it e 1st time for the prev race, was pleasently surprised by the quality.

Re: Where to watch F1 if dowan to get Mio?

Wow I thought I was alone in not signing up for WC. At least still can watch opening match, semis and final live on good 'ol free-to-air Ch5.

Both SingTel, StarHub extend ESPN Star Sports channels' cutover time
Posted: 03 July 2010 1446 hrs

SINGAPORE: SingTel and StarHub have agreed to extend the cutover timing for the ESPN STAR Sports channels.

The channels will now be carried on both platforms until midnight on 1 August 2010.

Recently the carriers agreed to showcase the Wimbledon 2010 Championships on both platforms.

With this extension, Singapore viewers can catch the Formula One's British Grand Prix, German Grand Prix, Hungarian Grand Prix and prominent golf major, The Open Championship on both platforms. - CNA/jm

Guys, try this via website

TVU player. You download it and tune in to either wheels, which is Speed tv or Star sports.
Speed tv also shows friday practice but for the actual race itself, i suggest you watch it from the Star sports channel since the commentary is much better.

TVU networks - Live TV from around the world

*NOTE: This is streaming TV. Any download is at your own risk.

i have succumed to the unfair, involuntarily enforced evil that is capitalism, and subscribed to mio. I am still angry with singtel.
