Re: wah god said sorry n thank u to pastor KHFC

let's be more sensitive when discussing religion in here. This is an issue with the person, not the religion.

Re: wah god said sorry n thank u to pastor KHFC

Personally, I see faith and religion to be very separate issues. Faith is a personal relationship between me and my God/Higher Power/Whoever. Religion is man's attempt to put a structure and impose an (usually his own) interpretation to that faith. If the religion and its requirements go against what my faith tells me, I'll leave that religion, but I'll keep my faith.

My late mother was a devout Christian, and - at least in the eyes of her children - practiced the tenets prescribed by her faith. For what it's worth, her faith offered her much comfort when she was diagnosed with end stage cancer, and allowed her to face her impending demise with courage and dignity, such was the strength of it.

And when my time comes, and if my own impending demise could be met with the same courage and dignity because of my faith, then that faith is something worth holding on to.

Just my 2 cents worth - in what can be a potentially sensitive and delicate topic.

In my many whatsapp group chats, I have seen forumers talking porn and hum sup and then "praise the Lord" on Facebook every Sunday.

Such faith that they will be forgiven.

Its scary what people think religion is for these days. The young ones do it for social reasons, the middle aged ones do it for connections and status, and old ones for redemption.

Motherhood statements like these - Not cool!

Agree.

Inevitably some of it will be related to religion, cos he is a religious figure. Just like ming yi and the catholic priest. No religion is free from corruption, as long as people get into it for the wrong reasons, which is my main point.

Blind faith doesn't help either. We have to be willing to question our elders, not just go with everything they say is right. End of the day, religion is about morality, not just faith alone.

Sorry if i touched on a sensitive subject, but i feel that an objective, mature and balanced discussion on the matter is still within good taste and relevant.

It is a sensitive topic and we should discuss on the subject and not about what religion should be and your subjective views of religion. How is this objective, matured or balanced?

No offence but there will be people who will be offended from religious discussion whether you mean it or not. Let's jst stay away from that.

Re: wah god said sorry n thank u to pastor KHFC

Religion is man-made. Faith is self-made

Who?

So MANY !!!

I have backslided, hence I'll rather not taint the name of Christians. Else, irony abound and the issue of shaking others will surface.

I prefer the word "moonwalk" to "backslide". The former just sounds so much cooler :) :lol2:

Re: wah god said sorry n thank u to pastor KHFC

I've been thinking about these questions. It brings greater reality to KH's church.

Does CHC admit religious patrons who are too poor to contribute to pith? Not once, not twice but consistently because they are too poor. Will God judge me? Or KeeHong crazy pastor will frown upon me for not giving him charitable amount? How would the atas people next to me look at me? Will I feel pressurised and unhappy in this church? Will I gain any true friends in this church? Will my self-esteem dropped even lower after visiting this church? What have I become?

True church and true religion do not judge. Humans do. The humans running this church are bad. That makes that church bad too unless we remove the bad eggs. Right? What's so complicated?

Re: wah god said sorry n thank u to pastor KHFC

Religion: it's a BMW... so it must better than Japanese, right?
Faith: only buy from the stealership... even if the service sucks :lol2:

Bear in mind that the non-religious and people of other faiths did not take offense when 1 poster said that he will pray that these chc people turn to his God (the "correct" version of God). How presumptuous and self righteous was that?
