Call be4 already... very ex... $450-$500 :)

any cheaper ones?

450 - 500 is cheap.

What mods do you have in your car? If nothing much has been done, I don't see the point in having a programmable piggyback.

I can remap the ECU + remove the speed restriction for 300.

Re: Tune ECU...

heard about obit 2 piggyback and the hiop flash programming. anyone know if any of these can work for E65 N52 engine built in march 2005? last i heard about ECU tuning requires the driver to tell the tuner how he wants the car to behave at low/med/high rpm whereas hiop has no such trouble. which is better? anyone know?

sounds good CGT. where is ur shop? got warranty or not?

No experience with hiop, but I am pretty sure obit can do the job. Since they are a local company, should have no issues with tech support and of course the price is very attractive. I met them a couple of years back in Taiwan while they were working their piggyback on a EFI conversion project for a Porache 965. IIRC, at that time it does not come with ignition control. Perhaps the orbit II now have that feature, I am not sure.

Yes. Remapping the ECU without running the car on a dyno with essential feedbacks such as a reliable AFR reading, is like tuning blindfolded. It will be less complicated if the car is plain stock. One other problem is that you'll need to remap the ECU when mods are added/removed. I have no experience with hiop and what you said interest me. Perhaps their ECU mod includes real-time feedback from the factory lambda, that I will check out.

A programmable piggyback eliminates the hassle of remapping the ECU over and over again, though re-tune is still required. Most importantly, the piggyback (if properly tuned) can be tuned to the needs of your motor. A standalone system, such as the Motec completely eliminates the factory ECU. Unless your quest for power is to the extreme, a standalone is not essential.

I don't have a registered buisness yet. The flashing will be done overseas and would take between 7 to 14 working days. Send me a PM if you are interested. Cheers.
