Wow.. wouldn't that stick your turban a bit of a high in the engine bay... making it's presence obvious? Bet your header would be looking like a set of curled up spider legs... kekekekekek.

hi bros,

after much consideration, i have decided to keep my 330 instead.
cause the 335 will bleed me hard, and i dont think i can survive this massive blood letting.

instead i am hiop tuning and changing the exhaust on my 330 and hopefully get 30 more hp.

also i will be buying the TOTO on a more agrressive level.

cheers

I really don't think you can squeeze 30 ponies from the 330. If you have read other threads that say that you can, it is usually the de-tuned 2.5 l engines of the 523 or 323. Cheers!

basket. i stayed up the whole night doing research and taking measurements in my engine bay lor. :furious:

to get back on topic:

i'm think buying a car is as much a financial exercise as it is an emotive one. the difference between your current 330i and 335i is not just in the engine.

i believe you're also getting a car with components that are designed to handle the greater engine output as well as a car that's more easily modded. I'm pretty sure most of the overseas tuners will be focusing R&D on the 335i simply because mods yield much better gains. so at the end of the day, the 335i will offer greater upside, performance wise at least.

also your upgrade is from the 330i sedan to the 335i coupe? i would just bite the bullet and upgrade to the coupe, better body value when it comes to time for export.

of course its easy for me to say, because its your money, not mine... :lol2:

Re: trading my 330 for a 335

As some haidees say,
even if u have the $$mulah, its about making a prudent decision. Why let PML make more $$ from your trade-in 330i when u know they already made so much $$ from it initially.

U shld drive yr car 2 to 3 year at least before switching

"U shld drive yr car 2 to 3 year at least before switching"

Actually, you should buy the best car you can possibly afford, and then keep it for 10 years......

Re: trading my 330 for a 335

the mod is supposed to keep the interest high and hopefully can last for 10 years. ha

It's a zero sum game...
We like cars, we spend on cars... if you have the mullah$ and can afford to trade in your 330i for a 335ci, then go for it man!
Oh lah, so it's a little painful but the joy, THE JOY :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

I always tell my wife... be contented that I don't drink, don't smoke, don't gamble, don't spend my money on other women. And I eat at hawker center, wear my clothes for years,
so I think the car is a reasonable expenditure then :) :) :)

Whatever makes you happy, go for it...

Re: trading my 330 for a 335

hi bros

i have installed K&N filter, sprint booster and hiop software program.
hope to keep the car for a year or 2 and than i will go for the ultimate driving machine-M3.

hopefully i can buy it in year 2008.one year after they start production.

cheers

Re: trading my 330 for a 335

Hi Ho, so how does the car feel after all those additions? Any quantitative numbers on the gains? Thanks for sharing.

hi sting,

with sprint booster,no more throttle lag,
with K&N filter, revs better and more agressive engine sound.
with hiop software, just installed yesterday still dont know results yet.

thinking of changing the whole exhaust system, but no complete set, manifold exhaust very limited in market and mostly for left hand drive models.

cheers

"Theoretically ..yes. But realistically..:lol2:"

Ok, maybe 10 years is asking a bit much.....but I can see myself keeping a 335i for 5 years....maybe even longer if the maintenance is not too extreme. Remember, the longer you keep it, the more money you have for the next one.......

Then the new Z4 in 2010...
And new Z8
And also the Z2 quite soon...

After 2-3 years already itchy... 5 years will have big rash. :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Re: trading my 330 for a 335

buying a car in sing is a negative return investment....

think we cant even use the word investment itfp.... ha

its basically how much ur willing to spend/loose... its all abt wat u can afford to forgo...

ho2786

u sell ur 330 now for 160k... n spend another 75k to topup for the 335

but in 2yrs time ur 330 would have depreciated to god-knows where... n the new M3 is not going to be just ard the a simple 75-100k topup anymore... i would think the new M3 would be ard 100k more than the 335.

think if u change to a used 335 will be more prudent... IMO

and i really dun advise on borrowing heavy on a car loan

KEN

ha.... use the moola to buy a T3 n a RM010... swee swee
