hi,

i have the following set up for my e60.

18inch ps2 and spacers
pss9 5/5
anti roll bars
strut bars

i am experiencing too much body roll and some time feel car skidding to right when i am going round the round about at tampines road leading to tpe.

wat can i do to to stop the roll and slight skidding.

am not interested in larger trye profile as my e60 already sluggis

TIA

Re: too much body roll

If you upgraded the rear anti roll bars, maybe try go back to the stock rear anti roll bars. Too stiff rear anti roll bars always induce a sense of oversteer.

Re: too much body roll

stiffer springs or coilover suspension may help with the roll.

Re: too much body roll

With the setup you have given, roll should have been minimized already. If you think that there is too much roll then the only thing left to do is to lighten the car. The e60's chasis and body is intrinsically heavy and bearing in mind that it was designed to be a luxury saloon and not a track day special is something that needs to kept in mind.

slot in some even stiffer arbs?
for rear, the stiffer the ARB the more oversteer you will induce. If you want better cornering stability, DON'T stiffen the rear ARB. Stiffen the front. And soften the rear.

Re: too much body roll

louis...he is already on pss9...from this setup it seems pretty good already what dont understand why you suffer from a lot of bodyroll and skidding maybe you just pushed too hard??

Yeah, it's a 5-series, not a Elise! There might be limits to the roadholding.

oops didn't see that. but PSS9 has softer springs than more hardcore coilovers like KW, ground control etc etc.

Re: too much body roll

PSS9 - softer srpings or not..think if u damp it to say front 1 rear 2 ..would be damn stiff already la for s'pore roads. Try it !!

Re: too much body roll

im not sure, but i think hardness of dampers and stiffness of springs are different.... eh, got experts or not? TripleM? Shaun?

Re: too much body roll

erm going round the round about at about 80-90km/h is that pushing hard?i feel it just holding the road any faster i worry it drifting.maybe i sould try to soft rear arb then. tks guys

Try setting 4/3 for your PSS9. Tire pressure also play a part.

Let me try out your car if you dun mind.

I dun have any of your problems.....my car ran perfectly with 2/1 settings at Sepang.

Trust me, I drive my car dam hard!

Follow me thru old upper Thompson Road & U'll know.

Re: too much body roll

If u r feeling roll, that means you are not going fast enough......kekeke...well it's half truth.

Anyway, the setting of the shock gives you the softness or hardness of the damping, bound and rebound. To get a flat feel, a harder set of springs will do the magic and best is if it's linear and not progressive type.

How low is your ride after the coilover? Will's car is almost slammed and that could be one of the contributing factors to induce a flatter feel.

Re: too much body roll

talking about tire pressure may be not enough too. that round about is my usaul route every time i go round fast, some times i feel my rims are hitting those horizontal white lines and skidding.

why i want to improve this roll is because i some times encounter gs300 and mark x on my back side and thats the only place i can take them on..hahaha.

there was once i tailed a gs300 and it was was rolling and skidding all over the place i dare not overtake it on the two lane.

erm not fast enough hence the roll.pleae elaborate?i scared car skid and drift and slam into railings lah.

or could it be my ice set up cause imbalance. one subwoofer to the right side only??

Get to a red light next to them, lower your window and invite them to Sepang

80-90kph depends how tight ,,,, dun have to worry if e car drifts, just push it - yr traction control will save u when ur at the limit (but dun do it in the rain ok) but if u disengage traction then u better know what u doing. Anyway , what kinda of tyres u using ? any screeching sound when cornering ?
